driving or 2-iron recommendation

OK, a little over a year ago I acquired a set of JPX forged irons. Love them. Zero complaints other than they stop at 4 iron. The 4 iron is a rocket for me - high and long. In missing having a 3 I acquired a Mizuno fli-hi (or whatever they call it). It's too high-trajectory for me. I hear banter on tv and such about driving irons. Any recommendations here for such gear? I couldn't find anything on Mizuno's website about a 2 iron fli-hi, but I imagine that might fit the bill...just a bit less loft than my 3. Thanks much...

Mizuno FLI-HI head style varies from hybrid to driving/utility iron according to year of issue.

In 2016, the JPX FLI-HI had a hybrid head. Likewise is the 2019 JPX FLI-HI, which is billed as a driving iron-hybrid combo.

In 2018, the MP-18 MMC Fli-Hi Utility Irons had a driving iron head. Lofts vary from 16.5° to 22° in loft. One reviewer suggested that stronger players would want a firmer shaft than the stock offering, a KBS C-Taper Lite.

GolfWRX had a thread on MMC comparisons last year: [https://forums.golfwrx.com/discussion/1629112/mizuno-fli-hi-old-vs-new/p1](https://forums.golfwrx.com/discussion/1629112/mizuno-fli-hi-old-vs-new/p1 "https://forums.golfwrx.com/discussion/1629112/mizuno-fli-hi-old-vs-new/p1")

That Fli-Hi shouldn't be launching too high without help. Not sure what your setup with it was, but I am guessing it was mismatched to your swing, and problems arose from there.

This one is the same setup as the rest of my irons. If you look at the JPX forged 4 iron, it's not a head with a lot of mass down low. The Fli Hi is.

Typically, Mizuno and Callaway have marketed bigger, chunkier driving irons. Conversely, Titleist and Taylormade have kept their offerings a bit smaller.

That said, it's pretty hard to hit a 2-iron excessively high. Odds are the shaft needs to be heavier. It's a lot harder to hit a Dynamic Gold too high than say, a lightweight KBS or similar PXi shaft which are designed to be easier to load.

Is it the stock KBS CTL Stiff shaft in it? I have that club and it's quite a high launch for me as well.

Check out New Level's 4559HB Utility. I've been gaming mine (the 18*) for about 3 weeks now and its outstanding. The looks, feel, and performance are top notch. It sounds great and not hollow sounding or "tinny" like others. It's also not super bulky like many other driving irons/utilities. Very forgiving and easy to hit off the deck too. My only complaint is that it does have a bit more offset than I prefer but I got over that quickly due to all the above pros. They offer plenty of great aftermarket steel and graphite shafts, too.
