Update in progress - Roles, badges, member ranks

During the next week,

New ranks by post count, badges, and roles to allow/disallow bst posting privileges will be rolled out. Notifications may get odd during this transition.

For bst posting access for new ads, users will need 75 posts count plus additional point requirements if they are not ClubWRX members or pay the insertion fee. Points would be achieved by contributing or milestones. Paid access to post ads will remain unchanged.

Have you posted what exactly constitute the "additional point requirements"? The metrics, I get that it's "contributing or milestones." Thanks in advance!

Also, are there plans to carry over the "likes" from previous site? Those likes are good measures of "contributing" don't you think?

The point system has not been fully vetted and will probably be adjusted over time as its dialed in. Currently, access to post new ads in the BST will require 75 posts and 20 points. Points are earned through various milestones and accomplishments.

Once that threshold is met, then all future rankings will have access to the BST.

The new point system is being reviewed and likes will be one metric, as will post counts and length of memberships(anniversaries) and other factors like social tie in and profile updates.

Having a lefty badge will yield - 2 points.

Uploading a profile picture - 2 points

Twitter - 2 points

Facebook - 2 points

Name dropper - 2 points

Anniversary first 5 years - 1 point each. 5 through 10 - 2 points

First comment - 2 points

Each like 1 point

Total likes milestones:

5 likes - 1 point

25 likes - 1 point

100 likes - 1 point

250 likes - 1 point

500 likes - 1 point

Off topic minus 1 point

We would have to look at feasibility of importing likes from the previous system. Please add it as a request in the 2.0 system forum if not already there.

This seems unnecessary and something a majority of members wont care for. Just my 2 cents.

Won’t effect most members as this is to reinforce the 75 posts rule to post ads in the bst. The additional requirements are to compensate for that change in not being able to limit which posts count towards totals.

Yes, as it has been for over 10 years.

the majority of members have been asking to see that go away. only takes a smart scammer to realize they only have to pay $5 to scam someone out of hundreds of dollars. this new implement of 75 post PLUS other frivolous achievements doesn't matter much.

The majority of scammers didn’t pay $5. Looking at the dispute forum clearly shows that.

The $5 fee is not even a small revenue generator. It does get used for legal discovery purposes when fraud does occur.

A smart scammer will overcome any barrier. The additional conditions will inhibit post running.
