DQd for shooting 202 in US Am qual (Trey Bilardello, caddie for Matt Every)

I find this pretty appalling, especially for a professional caddie on the PGA tour.

Mainly due to the disrespect I feel he showed to his playing partners.

I'd like to hear the reasoning. It does appear the course played very difficult as the 3 qualifiers only shot 1 under.

Maybe he considered it clown golf and decided to play like a clown.

I'm not sure what typical scores are for these events but would figure a little lower than that.

Apparently not his first issue.

Probably should be banned from competition. Matt should look for someone else.

Should be given a ban of some description for any tournaments of note or status. 12-24 months sounds fair.

I read the article. WOW...bizarre. But to have that much disregard for the guys you are paired with...just hard to imagine someone with his experience level and his job being that way.

The AM equivalent of JB and Cantlay most weeks. Just flat out dumping on the field with their conduct. The only way this story has a sunny ending is if one of the competitors lays him out in the parking lot lol.

Sounds like he was probably as high as his scores based on the behavior exhibited.

Very strange. And, according to the articles, it's not the first time he's done some strange things on the course.

I feel bad for the guys playing with him who had to watch that. It had to affect their games.

The maximum allowed handicap for qualifying is 2.4. Someone could have pulled him off the course after 9 holes so his playing partners didn't have to suffer through that.

What an a**!!

I can get that he must have been disappointed, annoyed, frustrated - all the feelings that we are all used to feeling on the golf course but his behaviour takes him down to the level of a child. Guy needs to get a grip of himself and if he wasn't able to do that then he should have walked in. That would have been less of a distraction to his playing partners than what they ended up stuck with.

I guess he's not bright enough to realize these childish antics will not be good for his caddying career

I'm actually shocked there wasn't something done mid round, even if it was just something like PoP which could have gotten him DQed long before this happened. Though, I guess with the way the rules are written, he was taking shots within the time window, even if they were to deliberately miss the hole, he wouldn't have been penalized...

He was intentionally missing shots to increase his score so that he could record the highest USGA score ever (for whatever odd reason).

Yeah, agreed, not sure what was going on mid-round. Of course, i've never played in one of these events so have no idea how closely things are monitored. And, remember, a good portion of the shots were simply, for instance, putting in the opposite direction of the hole multiple times. That really doesn't take a whole lot of time.
