I wonder if this is a response to the anonymous caddie calling out a cheating long putter user...

He was back to the long putter for day two, so it didn’t last long.

It is always baffling to me when someone who plays golf professionally looks that uncomfortable with any club in their hand.

It's tough to comprehend but at the same time putting is just what he struggles with when things go wrong. Other guys can't get off the tee, or they struggle to chip. Everybody professional or amateur has something that when things start going wrong they start thinking too much about.

And I get that, and it's not just him. You can just see when someone is so wrapped up in the mechanics that they completely lose what they are actually doing, and that's his putting.

For sure, and my comment wasn't meant to be directed at you. It's more towards those who seem to single him out as the only guy who's game can't hold up for 72 holes. I mean just looking at it, Phil can't hit a fairway under the pump and Rahm can't keep his head on his shoulders. Both of those have a similar outcome the just don't look as bad as a botched 2ft putt.

I am sure that he has the Newport in there and uses it when he warms up. I wonder if he thought that it felt good and he would just stick with it. He did say earlier in the year that he would keep changing when it came to putters as he thought keeping it fresh was helping him putt better...not sure I would necessarily agree with that but then I am not Adam Scott.

Confidence plain and simple...putting is easy when you see the ball go in the whole and it is downright scary when it doesn’t. Its been a long while since Adam has had the confidence to make putts and trust it...shame too he is such a great player a likeable guy.

Love the Studio Stainless choice too...unfortunately it didnt inspire the confidence he was looking for...

Thought he looked good a while ago with the arm lock...wonder why he went away from it. I think he said he was having issues controlling the pace but you'd think that's something he could work on in practice and continue to improve with it.

I thought the arm lock would get more of a look too. Seems like when he misses those putts inside 3-4 feet he looses confidence...then a putter change follows.
