Darren Clarke today...

So a local favorite, almost makes the cut. On the last hole he made a bogey and he stormed off the green. No acknowledgement towards the home fans, not even a wave. He looked beet red. The camera followed him a bit, he ran up the stairs, shook no hands on his way. Not sure what happened? And there was no interview afterwards that I saw? Interesting and bad form IMO.

"Darrin" was probably upset that people don't know how to spell his first name.

He shook everyone’s hand on the green and along the walk to the scoring tent.

On the last hole he made 7 not a “bogey”....... to miss the cut. Who wouldn’t be pissed.

DC is a bad mood is hardly ground breaking news territory but posting a triple on the last to miss out on the weekend of The Open at his home course...I can understand that he would not be in the mood to speak to the media. I'd be almost certain that after a couple pints of the black stuff tonight he will be right as rain tomorrow and most likely popping up in the media somewhere over the weekend.

It was a triple. Poor guy. Putting stroke looked super yippy on the double bogey attempt.

He did shake hands with everyone but very quickly. I'm sure they understood he was pissed.

More than likely. I didn't see the handshakes, but it appeared he didn't recognize the crowd, just left in a huff. Oh well.

Umm, didn’t this thread start with you criticizing Clarke? Local favorite makes triple to miss the cut. I’m sure all is already forgiven, even if it was as blatant as you suggested.

Wasn't being critical of Clarke at all. It was an observation of his behavior.

Clarke acknowledged the crowd during the entire walk up to 18 green.

He made 7 to miss the cut by 2, surely understandable he didn't want to hang around after that?

Hey Gunni....do you have any clue what its like to arrive at the 36 hole of a major championship in your home country and only need a bogey to make the cut....and instead you make triple bogey? I saw him on the practice tee, maybe Wed? I can't remember but he looked very dark on TV and it was a distance shot. Well I kid you not I thought to myself, "Who is the black golfer?" Then yesterday on 18 he looked beet red. He really needs to be careful with his skin. He does not appear to be aging well. And before anyone says, Yes I know he can beat me in a round. Just sharing a few observations. Nothing against him.

Typical behaviour from Darren, has done that many times in his career. Has never had the grace of McIlroy who almost always faces the media after setbacks.

It's probably from the booze and not the sun.

Yeah I was curious if he was slamming back cold ones on the range Thursday before the first tee shot.

Both are heroes to their countries...

I think they both are complete badasses
