Would volunteer "Bunker Rakers" work for the PGA Tour?

I've wondered for some time why the PGA Tour doesn't train local volunteers to rake the bunkers at each tournament ... it's not rocket science. As the caddies in the story noted, it would make it easier for them to keep up with the group and focus on their player.

I think if caddies(particularly the Australian ego maniacs) stopped hitting the shots for their players and flexing their steroid pumped biceps at fans they would have plenty of time to perform their traditional duties.

The sheer number of them they would have to have at certain events, the additional strains on other resources and the utter "unecessary-ness" of it would argue against. Impractical and the instances in which that is a problem, even if it is, are rare.

I had no idea it was NZ. Is there a meaningful difference?

In that case he can get over it because Australia/NZ have to be at least 13 rungs below Scotland/England.

Definitely below Scotland but after that they are all much of a muchness haha.

Every time I talk to an American I ask them what part of Mexico they're from. They love that.

Along with volunteer divot replacers, volunteer club wipers and volunteer ball polishers. The PGA Tour could charge each $150 and give them a shirt and a hat and a bag lunch.
