Opinions on same shaft in 3 wood and driver

I recently got a TS2 3 wood and absolutely love it, one of my favorite clubs I own. It has a Smoke HZRDUS 6.0 70 g shaft. I game a 2017 M2 w/ a Kurokage Silver stiff 60g and I am thinking about swapping out the shaft, but i dont know what on I want. Was curious on if many of you game the same shaft in 3 wood and driver? Or do you go completely different. New shafts suggestions are welcome, open to any.

I prefer the same shaft in 3 weights

Right now og Blueboard in 53x, 63x and 73x in 1,3 and 5 woods

Depends on what you want from that club, I play mid launch in both, but for me I've always preferred something a touch softer in the 3 wood, then something stout in the driver. There is no hard ad fast rule, but if you want to go hard at your driver often it always makes sense to get something very stable.

Altho both mainly played off the tee, I still prefer different shafts in driver and 3 wd. Oddly enough I've changed up from going to stout indriver and a bit softer in 3wd to softer in driver and stouter in woods. has helped me a bit in not trying to not be as aggressive/stupid with driver in hand, and just put a good, balanced swing on it and let things take care of themselves. 3/4 wds are tee only primarily and love to rip at them, but shorter/heavier shaft allows that with a better margin for error.

I game the hzrdus smoke 6.0 70 gram in my TS3 driver and my Flash 3 wood. The driver is tipped half an inch but the shaft gives me my desired flight in both, plus I know how it's going to feel. If you have the opportunity, try it out and see if it works.

My 3 wood contains they 10g heavier version the same shaft of my driver. Very consistent feel.

I was using same shaft for both driver and 3 wood, tour AD TP 7x for both. For some reason that 70’s weight range just works really well for me, have tried 60’s weight for driver and am just not as consistent. I have also tried 80’s weight for 3 wood and I could adjust with time but the 70’s allow me to hit a control shot or step on 1.

I play PX Hzrdus Black 62 and 75 for driver and 3 wood. Love them both and the profile fits me well. Personally I like to match wood shafts in heavier weight increments.

Same shaft in all woods, probably need to put something heavier in my 4 wood, its kinda light.

For the longest time I have been using 60g Tensei Pro White in my driver and 70g Tensei Pro White in my 3 wood. Wanted to keep the same profile for consistency purposes. I recently got a deal on a 70g Tensei Pro Blue and decided to put it in my 3 wood. Amazing shaft profile for that club, to me it makes a difference on the not so good swings. The mid kick point seems to fair better than the high kick point for me with the fairway wood.

I think its ok to get different type flight shafts in driver and fairway woods just make sure to keep the weight progressive from driver to fairway wood and keep within the same family (brand wise) for consistency and you will be good.

BTW: Tensei line of shafts for woods, especially the Pro models are the best on the market IMO. Pro Blue can be had for a lot cheaper online at the moment than the Pro White as well.

Agree with above post, I actually just recently put a Tensei Pro Blue 70 tx in my 3 wood and it will be there for a while. Getting the tipping correct is always crucial, I went 3/4” tipping instead of .5” and that helped with keeping spin numbers in check for tee shots. Tensei Pro Blue will go down as one of best 3 wood shafts ever and a cult classic i bet. It replaced GD tour AD TP7x just for reference, another shaft I love, Pro Blue just gave me a better flight for shots off the deck.

+1. I use my 3 wood a lot from the tee to hit to certain distances. Having that same feel helps tremendously.

I read over the weekend that Tommy Fleetwood changed 3 wood and in changing 3 wood he found that he liked the shaft in it so much that he went with the same shaft in his driver.

For me, I am looking for something slightly different with mine. I loved the look of the 915Fd over the 915F but in order to get a little more launch I went with a more mid launching shaft than was in my driver at the time.

I have just moved back to having the same shaft in different weights through my woods/hybrid. I've gone for the Rogue Max, 65 in the Driver, 75 in the 3 wood and 85 in the Hybrid, all X-Flex, and it's been a revelation, frankly. Consistent response through the top end of my bag, and the same smooth but stable feel I get from my irons also.

I've been very impressed with the Rogue Max as well. Definitely stiff, but easy to load and get great numbers with, and a lovely penetrating flight to cut through the wind.

I'll use whatever works, doesn't have to match. Driver is the old (by WRX standards) Fuji Speeder TS 6.2, and my FW options are usually between a BBA 816 16* and Steelhead 4+. Have a matching Speeder TS 8.2 in the BBA but have a Kai'li 80 in the Steelhead. I'll typically take the BBA when I expect I may have more off the deck shots and the Steelhead when I think I'll hit FW off the tee more.
