Humble Brag - Broke 80. And yes could have been better. Apologies to other breaking 80 threads!

Yep been playing a ton this summer, even after a late late start. Decided that I will enjoy myself and little guilt. Friday 40+ Heat Index (yes Celsius here) I played 36 and fairly well. Saturday we traditionally play the tips, which i hate as a short hitter, using driver on two par 3's and unless striped not reaching the fairways on a few holes too. I start out fine with bogeys on the first four, which is expected...... On five it slowly falls apart and heck by 18 I'm happy to be done and post 100......

Sunday back to Member Tees and no feel on the greens for 11 holes and then a strong 12-18, which gives me hope.

I am fairly consistent, but don't break 80, struggle often putting (and people laugh at my stroke) and making a 10'er is probably as good as I can expect.

Monday they are doing greens work so first tee time is 11:00. I am up every day before 6:00 am and thus do 4:30 of work and head up for the 11:00 am tee time. Again start Bogey bogey, then GIR, but race first putt 8' by, but make the come backer. Fortuitous bounce off a tree into the fairway on four and a nice chip to 4' for par. Par 5-7 (missing a 4' birdie on 7), and a tidy +3 on the front.

10-12 is our Bermuda Triangle, where rounds get lost. 10 is a 200 yard uphill all carry, where I'm usually short. Chip to 2', Bogey 11 & 12, which is okay. 13 miss par putt. On 14 a par 5 I almost dunk a 100 yard PW (1" for the birdie). 20' on 15, bad break on the longest par 5 16th, I seldom par leads to a bogey. Another GIR and 2 putt par on 17 and I know barring a disaster I have it.

On 18 a great drive leaving me hybrid 180 to the green I again reach maybe 10% of the time (if that). Smoke it on line to 20' and cozy the putt to 6"......

An effortless 77, with no bombs, recovery shots or anything out of the ordinary (outside the break on 4).......

Oh yes and as a threesome done in 2:46.

So yep down in writing, and sure reality will set in the next time, but boy was that fun.

familiarity reallllly does help. I've played some incredible rounds at courses that I know on the back of my hand. congrats brother!!!

Summit is about 10 mins south of my house. I have some friends and neighbours there

Of course it does...... However I played exceedingly well too. I may have played it over and over, but me & our regualr group stilll haven't figured out all the undulations & breaks on the greens.

And back to reality yesterday. Didn't even play that bad, just some missed fairways, a few terrible swings, GW was finicky and had a few shots came up short. Oh yea and putting woes as usual.

Expected it, though did not talk myself into it, and laugh about that this is golf and I'll be out tomorrow & Saturday to turn it around.
