TP5X Durability

Overall it's a great ball. Has anyone found it lacks Durability?. After one round it is roughed up. wedge groves are painted white. Since switching too the new prov1x i could use that for 3x rounds without hardly any wear, especially from short irons/wedges.

I play the 2019 tp5x, and havent had any issues so far with durability (unless i find the path)

Also play the new tp5x. Haven't had any issues

I find no issues with the TP5, but the TP5X is the worst shredding golf ball I've played in years. My 52 degree vokey, for example, I've had for awhile now (it's an SM4). It spins to my liking with other balls, so never felt a reason to change. However, I tried some TP5Xs (and regular TP5s) the other day and anything that's at or above an 80% swing rips shreds off the ball. I've never done that with any other premium ball I've played using that same wedge. Overall, it's an ok ball. Spins too much and I lose too much yardage for my preferred liking, so I prefer the TP5, which has become one of my favs.

Intersesting, i found the complete opposite as far as spin goes. The tp5 would spin back off greens for me with a wedge or short iron. The x dropped and stop. Everything ive read the x is supposed to be one of the lowest spinning balls on wedges and short irons for a urethane ball. I think only the avx is less spinnier. I have brand new rtx4s and have yet to see any “shredding”. Was this the 2019 version?

Played one today for the first time ever. Absolutely LOVED this ball and didn't find it to shred at all... granted my wedges are not new but I had no problems getting it to check and stop. It was definitely more of a hit and stop ball then one that wanted to rip back. I was really pleased with the lack of wear on it after a full round, I should be able to clean it and play it next round, too!! Only ball I have even been blown away by with its durability is the Z star XV, but TP5x has a new fan here.

Ditto, they are the most durable of the proline balls

i didnt' have any issues with the ones that i tried. i just didn't like them as much as pro v's around the greens.

.. I too find the TP5x as durable or more durable than any ball I have played.

I’ll say the new version is more durable than the previous but, I still get maybe a full round from a ball. The covers show wear and gashes and scrapes. That being said, I keep the grooves real clean and have been known to cut a cover.
