Not overly familiar with Adare Manor but Le Golf National is not a dreadful course, for the most part Team USA played it dreadfully though.

A Ryder Cup at Sawgrass would actually be good viewing.

With the way things change... that just seems so far down the road. Does it really take 6 - 7 years to prepare for this event? Good chance that we've never heard of half of the field that will be playing.

Too bad really, after watching the golf at Portrush. Guess I'm not a fan of a Robert Trent Jones, redone by Tom Fazio. A couple of golf course architects whom I would rather forget.

Have you ever played the new course? No it isn't, it's a superb track. Best parkland in Ireland by miles, and more than a match for a number of the famous links.

well, that's what i'm saying ... doubtful the links courses even make a minimal gesture for the cup ... not sure what people want done about the european venues ... the bids help fund the euro tour ... the great links courses aren't going to pay to have the ryder cup, and they probably wouldn't want it even if the tour paid them ...

don't know anything about the golf course, but that is a FABULOUS clubhouse ...

i have not asked them ... i am, indeed, guessing ... you have FOUND ME OUT! ... since they are the ones that have to pay/bid for the cup, they aren't going to ask for it, esp since it would impede their revenue ...

Love the heartfelt defense of greedy corporate capitalism. You know, the Euro Tour doesn't have to chase the highest bid. It could do the right thing for "proper golf."

So because they are looking to sell property and have people come along to the spa it must mean that is a dreadful course. That’s a fantastically ignorant sweeping generalisation and assumption to make.

I’m not familiar with the Golf Digest list and when it was made up to but you do realise the course there has only reopened in the last year after a £60 million makeover of the place?

I mean, that means very little. Golf Digest probably lists the courses that pay them to list them. Same with giving out "gold medals" for equipment.
