Has Koepka surpassed Dustin Johnson?

Up until 2017 everyone called Koepka Dustin Johnson's training buddy. Ever since then, Koepka has won majors at an astronomical pace. Everybody can say Dustin's better because he has more wins, but ever since 2015 (when Brooks won his 1st tour event), Dustin has won 12 times on tour and Koepka has won 7 times. When looking at their overall games, I think Koepka is a better putter than Dustin and will end up with more wins overall. I also think Koepka is more of a grinder than Dustin and that showed at the US Open last year and the PGA this year both times when he beat Dustin in a major. I think up until last year people overlooked Koepka and thought Erin Hills was a fluke, but his play over the past 2 seasons has only proven them wrong. People say Dustin is the best athlete on tour and will win more majors. But in my opinion in 20 years Koepka will be a top 10 player while Dustin will be a footnote in golf history.

Koepka is surpassing Johnson by winning the most important tournaments. He seems to gear up for the majors and major tournaments while DJ simply wins other tournaments. Koepka seems to have a more solid game overall while DJ is fighting his putting. Maybe that will change over time, as DJ is an extremely hard worker, but for right now Koepka has my vote.

How many 4-time major winners ... Let alone back-to-back US Open winners ... Are footnotes in golf history?

Koepka will be a top 10 player by the time it's all said and done. I think this years majors have proven that he's going to challenge in the majors for a long time barring some serious injury.

I think this "don't care" attitude is helping him. Look at Spieth, he overanalyzes like crazy and hasn't won in over 2 years, while Koepka just plays golf. If anything I think his attitude is an advantage.

1 major a year on average from here until he turns 45 and he gets it done. Not to say that will happen, but those are the numbers.

That's tough to sustain. I think in 5-7 years some player we haven't even heard could go on a similar run. I mean in 2012 Koepka was winning the Challenge de Catalunya on some 6900 yard course in Spain so there might be some out there on the Korn Ferry Tour who might be beating Koepka in majors come 2024 or 2025.

Certainly not trying to slight any golfer here. More just trying to make the point that the top guys are basically playing tag with who is the “best”, which makes great accomplishments seem less “special”.

How many guys have won one major a year from age 40 until 45?

In other words, there is no chance it will happen.

DJ "might" win more overall tournies but BK is winning more majors. Way more. But then again that's what folks used to say about Rory, Spieth & Day.

DJ has been a bogey machine the second half of the season. He's just not putting up many clean rounds. This week he had something like 13 bogeys and 2 double bogeys. That's 17 shots to par he gave away. That's ugly!

Yeah, Brooks has surpassed DJ in world ranking, FedEx Cup position, majors, and play over the last two years. Career to date? 4 majors is worth 16 regular wins in my book.

It's getting harder to argue that DJ is the alpha dog in that pack.

What Koepka has accomplished over the past two seasons is epic. However I'm a little hesitant to knight him the shoe in for the next Tiger challenger. We've seen a few guys get on multiple season heaters just to slow down. Jason Day, Justin Thomas, heck Adam Scott had legitimate chance at 3-4 majors between 2012-2013 which makes BK capitalizing all the more impressive. If Brooks can keep it up next year, look out.
