Would you do this Scotty trade?

Picked up a 35" Mil Spec Pro Plat Newport 330g on the cheap. My gamer is a 350g MINT Studio Stainless. Someone has offered to trade me a Futura X5 for my mil spec. Do I keep both blades or change one for a mallet? Thoughts on the X5? The Mil Spec does feel very nice..

You can always get another X5....they will only get cheaper over time. The Mil Spec is cooler imo

I have a Newport 2 Tour 350 and a 330 Mil-Spec. If I was offered this trade, I would get rid of the Mil-Spec without a second thought. Yeah the Mil-Spec is probably a nicer putter than the Futura, but it will never go in the bag over the Newport 2. I like the larger appearance and heavier weight of the NP2. I’d rather have something totally different than more of the same. 330 Mil-Specs are not that rare and can be replaced cheaply. I’m still on the look out for a 350 Mil-Spec for less than $200 though.

Mil Spec's in good condition are getting hard to find and the X5 are getting easier and cheaper to find. I'd keep that Mil Spec unless I couldn't hit 1 footers with it.

Not asking for anyone to decide just wanted to hear opinions on the two putters. If it was a 350 MS you’d have to pry it from my cold dead hands. Looking on here the MS 330 seems to only fetch around $180. I got it for much less than that though and it’s in pretty good condition. Newports are timeless though and X5s are not. Id honestly trade it for a Spider X though - tried one for a while yesterday and could not miss with it.

Appreciate the reply. I guess my only consideration was I don’t know if I’ll ever game it. My 350 SS is a gem. Never had more birds with a putter. I wondered if my stroke ever gets off if a mallet would be good to have as a back up ??‍♂️

I would do it since it's a 330g...but I'd definitely keep it if it was 350 or even 340g. I think it's a pretty even trade, keep the Studio Stainless and have a different look with the X5. Just my opinion.

Just sell the Mil spec and buy a spider x!That way it was for something you really like.

Always keep the mil spec in my opinion. The 330 are gaining in value too, as people are beginning to realize heavier isn't necessarily better.

Always take the putter that you make putts better with!
