Concrete Tee Ground

I need help putting a tee in ground hard as concrete. The clay here can be pretty tough to inset a tee when dry, so any suggestions on how to fix this, costing me strokes right now.

I use my driver wrench in the winter time to push through the frozen ground before inserting tee. I've also played with a guy in construction that kept a hammer and nail in his bag lol...

get a big rubber tee like they have with the range mats

Call your tee the most offensive name you can think of while inserting into ground. Usually helps when trying to free up a rusted bolt or part when working on equipment/ old junk. If that doesnt work at least calling it a dirty word will make you feel better.

of course but when you hit 400 off the tee thats atleast 1 stroke

There’s a course near me that provides golfers with a rubber mallet when you tee off. Thankfully they just aerified the entire course this week.

Buy shorter tees or break/cut what you have.

Here's your solution:

Hard ground costing strokes..hum. Never heard of that happening but have encountered hard teeing ground.

Throw a small flathead screwdriver in your bag and use it to bore a hole in the ground for your tee. I do that in the winter here when the teeboxes are frozen.

I will put the awl, or a phillips screwdriver in the bag. I could not tee the ball low enough, and was skying it all over the place. Tennessee ground is mostly clay, and its great for longer drives, but sticking a tee in the ground can be a pain. Awl shucks, I had to put that in there, sorry. I'm shanking mother earth.

Played a course like that today. Just get a shorter or broken tee and just barely get it in the ground to where the ball will sit steadily. Worked well for me
