Flow Neck Putter Recommendations

Shifty242Shifty242 Members Posts: 110 ✭✭✭

I had a putter fitting at Club Champion where they recommended a flow neck putter for my game. As a result I picked up a gently used Cameron Studio Select Newport that I have used for the last few years. Now I'm itching to try something new and I'm curious to know what other putter brands you would recommend. Thanks in advance for your help!

This year I made the switch from plumbers neck back to the flow neck style I used when I was a junior golfer. I put a Piretti Matera Elite mid-mallet on the bag and I feel like I’m putting the best I have in 15 years. Piretti doesn’t get a lot of buzz on here in comparison to the major manufacturers but I can’t say enough good things about the quality and performance of this putter.

Thank you both for that recommendation. I don't have any first-hand experience with Piretti, but their website says they should be readily available in the golf stores where I live (Austin, TX.) The flange is different than the putters I am normally drawn to, but I have an open mind and will check it out. I'll keep you both posted.

JunkerJorge, I really like the look of the ZB and will add that to my list of putters to demo. Thank you!

I have a beautiful Exotics Tour Series 2.3 that I’d part with. Maybe the softest non-insert putter I’ve ever hit.

Jaygolf37, thanks for recommending that brand, which is a new one for me.

Don't sleep on the TaylorMade Black Copper Soto. I feel this lineup gets ignored by purists because they're skim milled and they have an insert, but for for me it's the perfect blend of a traditional putter and some tech to improve launch.

Regardless of what you end up with, one thing to watch for is offset. Many of the flow necks have 3/4 shaft offset, while some have a full shaft. Seems minor, but can make a difference.

Thank you Joelsim. I'll check that one out too.

I’m really impressed with mine so far, although only used it a handful of times on course. Too many putters and too busy at work this month. Next month will be much better for a few more outings.

Great point jll62. I'm not sure I considered the offset to that level of detail. Thanks!

The best looking round flow necks are done by T.P. Mills! The Scotty Cameron Circa 62 are a great tribute to them. The thin ribbon flow necks like the Rincon or something like a 2.5 Newport might function the same however are not aesthetically pleasing to my eye.
