New taylormade release

Recommended Posts

I was scrolling through Instagram and saw that TXG posted saying there is gonna be a new Taylormade release tomorrow morning around 6 PT. Wondering if anyone has a idea or seen anything about it. First thoughts were the new milled wedges or possibly the new p790s that we saw in play at the open.

I find it shocking that a company would release something and try to make advancements on previous iterations. How dare they.

Keep living with your head in the sand. Old marketing jokes aside, TaylorMade makes damn good products in every category.

Sure, but are they vastly different every release? Are they that much better every release? Simple answer, no... not sure how 'my head is in the sand'... I would more refer to it pertaining to you, while only looking up and seeing something shiny and new and thinking 'wow' before proceeding to put head back in the sand...

No one is denying they made/make good products, all OEM's do currently, but the product cycle has always been a complete joke, even today... How much better are you today than 10 yrs ago and can you attribute that soley to the clubs in your hands? Are you 50+ yards longer, do you hit every fairway and stick each shot tight? Why aren't you on Tour yet?

It is AND it isn’t.

19 Deg 4 iron. That is Stupid strong. That's a 2 iron loft for most players CB and blades back in the day. My 845 2 iron's loft and my 1999 Hogan Apex 2 iron's loft is 19 deg.

10.5 deg Titleist 905R with stock UST Proforce V2 Shaft (Stiff flex)
Titleist 990 (3-PW) with stock Dynamic Gold in S300
Taylormade V-Steel 5W & 3W with Grafalloy Prolaunch Red shafts (Regular Flex)
2011 Adams Tom Watson signature wedges in 52 and 56 degrees with stock steel shafts (Player's Grind)
Rife Island Series Aruba Blade Putter

"Loft for loft, length for length, and shaft for shaft, the ball will go the same distance when hit on the sweet spot regardless how old the iron."

When PXG was created. They tested a price point previously thought by OEM’s as completely outrageous and impossible to be profitable at. Previously, major OEM’s couldn’t break the $1k mark and have any success at retail. The success and niche that PXG has created/found, has reset the market. Sadly, it won’t be going down anytime soon. The frustrating part for me is, seeing companies like TM stop making one of their best ever sets of irons in the P750’s and replacing them with the P760’s so they could force players into buying tech (hollow-body/speedfoam) they don’t want or don’t need.

... Yup, OEMs should have stopped making new clubs when CB's were first released. We all know everyone doesn't need new clubs every year and it's not like there are players with 7 year old (or older) irons with worn out grooves that might need a new set in 2020. So the OEMs should just keep making the same clubs. I am sure anyone would play just as well with Taylor Mades Bubble Shafted R-80's. You would look good arriving at the course in a Gremlin too. No need for new cars every year either.

Not my fault you take offence to reality or bath in koolaid... And showing up in a Gremlin would be far cooler than joining the masses in G35's or the endless 3 series and C classes that are out there... You can easily see that the auto industry is getting to (likely already there and also a necessity in life for most) like the used club market of 10 years ago. Look how many cars are sitting in lots EVERYWHERE, and haven't drastically increased in price given options and 'new technology' for the class... Cooler arguement would be, why are you over paying for Chinese made clubs? Or Titanium given how little is used in the process and isn't a 'new' material to justify cost. Glug glug!

... Not offended at all. You are certainly entitled to come on a golf forum equipment thread and complain that they are making equipment.

We can blame OEM's for making things more expensive (which we always love to do) or we can blame the consumer for buying products this expensive. Companies wouldn't keep putting things at outrageous prices if sales stopped. The reason prices keep going up is that we, the consumer, keep paying the prices.

Not too long ago a 3-PW set was never over $1,000. Now a 4-PW set sells for $1,400+. All because we cry and moan but then pull out our wallets and pay for it anyway lol.

Fun to try and simplfiy things to further a point isn't it, but clearly misses what was previous said to accomplish it, nice touch...

I'll go back to my glue ups (golf and woodworking, waiting sucks) and let you finish your glass.

Taylormade has the best or at least top 3 in every single category.

I hate the marketing and gimmicky stuff, but the products are top shelf.

Obviously the company with the most R and D dollars going to have the best products.

Mehh. I dunno guys. I hadn’t purchased new sticks in 10 years. I was playing the original Callaway X Forged irons, old Cleveland wedges called ?CG15? And an R9 driver. I impulse purchased a set of p760’s, m5 driver, m5 three wood, spider x putter and 3 high toe wedges. After this insane, $3000 purchased in early June, i really got into clubs, i purchased a set of mizzy jpx 900t (3-pw)for $600 and srixon 565 (4-pw) for my dad for like $550. There are good sticks out there but the brand new ones re gunna cost $$$$!
