These look nice. I like the wide-body blade.

Digging the color scheme but I probably would have gone with a black insert on these.

Agree...definitely would have fit the look better.

I do like the finish....I just wish TM would make a non insert, milled face OTR version.

Yup. I’ve got the black copper Soto and love everything about it except the red insert. They’ve done a great job on the shape and everything else. I like the color of these but I will stick with a one piece putter, which are becoming rare it seems.

But that goes against their entire ethos. Their putters have the inserts because they believe it gives the putter better performance over non-insert putters. Unless that changes, you won't see non-insert putters from TaylorMade at retail.

I just switched to a black copper Soto. My only complaint is that the feel can be a little clicky at times. Hoping the move to a 5mm insert (from 3mm) changes the feel just enough to counter that. Other than that, I love the look of this finish.

Or maybe go back to a Kia Ma Type milled insert.

What do they call the blade/mallet putter or wide sole blade? Whatever it is. Is it considered a blade or a mallet?

I’m guessing TM’s putter strategy is just to change the colour every year from now on?

I actually like the look of these, but that insert is like hitting a concrete ball with a brick.

If it’s the same insert as the black copper line I thought the red insert was pretty soft compared to the spider tour black I had.

i actually think TM insert is one of the best feeling inserts/tech in the putter world. The 45degree angle grooves really does gives the ball a great roll compared to others.

In terms of actual firmness of the inserts, the black Surlyn insert found on Spider Tour Red is the softest and the aluminum on the TP line is the firmest. The 80/20 insert, found on the Spider X and Spider Tour Black is in between. However, your personal perception of the feel/sound will also be dependent upon the construction of the putter.

Exactly!! If you look on the beast, there are a bunch of one piece milled flat sticks being bought and sold again over seas. Especially in Japan, UK and Australia. Yes I know these are mostly Asian spec models but a very high percentage are OTR versions. My Odyssey ProType 6 I purchased recently came from Japan. Look at how many Kevin Burns and Bobby Grace KBI putters that are coming from there. They are becoming more rare for sure.

Excited to roll the new Del Monte. Just wish they had gone with something other than red for the insert. hopefully it doesn't stick out much from the face with the new insert so that it isn't super distracting at address.

But are the Ardmore's going to have Plumbers necks or only with double bend? It's crazy how hard it is for a lefty to find an L neck mallet. Couple choices for slant necks (tyne 4, Spider X) but it seems like we mostly just get face balanced stuff.

Love the stroke I can put on the ball with my Ardmore but the Red is kind of distracting. Would much rather have all black or this satin.

The Ardmore 2 is single bend face-balanced and the Ardmore 3 is short neck with 42 deg of toe hang. No L necks in the Patina Ardmore line for either RH or LH.

Juno just doesn't look the same without a sightline on the top line. So many Anser style putters have the sightline on the flange. The Juno was different and exactly why I bought one. I much prefer the old style. Spieth likes the sight line on top, and so do I.
