2014 Scotty Cameron Newport 2 legit?

I recently purchased a new (to me) 2014 Scotty Cameron Newport 2 putter off of eBay for $250. The seller has good reviews and everything seems legit, but with the counterfeit market out there I would love some peace of mind. I've heard this is the place to go for this type of thing! Thanks in advance!

Yea I’m hardly an expert but just the letters on the neck stand out even to me and are horrendous. I’m sure there’s a lot more but that neck is just awful.

This one is way off, so it was easy to tell. The finish and the neck are not even close to a real one. Usually the easiest way to identify a fake is to look for the line I circled in the picture. The fakes never have this.

And to be a little more specific - just look at the lettering. Very inconsistent. Lots of different sizes. A and m are smaller. E looks bigger.

There are some good fakes out there that take a sharp eye to spot. Once you start to get some idea what to look for you’ll realize this isn’t one of them.

Glad you’re protected. Maybe even keep us posted with what the seller says. May not hurt to id the seller depending.

Fake and I wouldn't even pay $250 for a real one. Send it back.

I mean we get these posts and I'm almost positive its sellers testing us before listing. These are so obvious if you just look at or hold a real one its crazy people still fall for it. File a dispute with paypal and include Scotty Cameron in the decision and hopefully they can figure out a way for you to destroy it rather than return.

Pretty bad fake. Like mentioned previously. Letters are awful and inconsistent. Plus the finish is horrible. Plus several other things. I’m sure the head cover is just as bad.

@Jake_w, Who is the seller?

**Update**: I contacted the seller and he still claims it's real. He gave me the phone number of the guy he bought the putter from and I plan to give him a call. This type of thing hasn't happened to me before, so I'm learning to navigate these rough waters on the fly. If he continues to claim it's authentic then I will provide his name. I'm hesitant to provide his name and essentially blacklist the seller on here because he could've been tricked like me and genuinely believed it is real. I'll keep updating this thread as things progress.

Don’t waste your time. It’s 100% fake. File the PayPal claim and let it go from there.

It’s possible the guy thinks it’s real but it isn’t. He may have been duped too but that’s irrelevant. He sold it to you so it’s on him. Start the claim and skip calling anyone.

Fair enough, thanks for all the advice. The sellers name is "59878968". In contacting him back and forth he seemed like a nice enough guy, just got tricked as well. Thanks again.

Don't do the sellers work for him. File a dispute for a counterfeit item and stop communicating with the sheisty seller.

That putter is a horrible fake, that would require zero effort in revealing it as a fake... if the buyer were interested in putting in enough diligence before clicking "buy". The $250 price makes it obvious that either zero effort was put in prior to this purchase, or the poster is floating a fake out there to see if it can pass.

He does have 100% feedback (600 something) so maybe he did get taken as well. But as stated that’s not your problem. He can take it up with whoever he got it from.

This looks like a $50 putter you would get at Dicks.
