Playing my first 2-Day Tournament, any tips?

Wondering if anyone has any tips for someone who's playing their 1st 2-day amateur tournament. Played a 1 day before and was nervous almost the entire round, can't imagine being nervous two days in a row. The first day i can walk, but the second day i'll probably cart it with an unknown person. I'm sure i'll be okay with that person, but if not, would it be rude to leave the cart in the middle of the round? would it mess them up? what's the etiquette?

You can't win the tournament on the first day, but you can lose it. If you make a bad shot, take your medicine and minimize the damage

General tournament advice. Play your normal game. Don't change your style of play just because it's a tournament.

Probably one of the most important things in managing your round is if you make an error in judgement or hit a bad shot you need to stay in control of your emotions and try not to make two errors in a row. That's what leads to high scores.

Play your own game, don't be intimidated by anyone that hits it longer than you.

Plan ahead for everything from your meal the night before to mid round snacks. Drink plenty of water. Plan to make good and bad shots. Try to enjoy yourself.

Depends on the level of the event. If you are just competing against some single digit and low double-digit players in a club event, I wouldn't really sweat the approach too much. Just go out and have fun. Most people score higher in competition than they do casually. They might feel compelled to be aggressive or make a "hero" recovery when they don't need to. Those folks will play themselves out on their own, without you having to do anything spectacular. For the rest, just keep the ball in play, make good (easy) choices, and do your best to two-putt every green at most. You'll do fine. At that level, not too many people will put together two stellar days in a row.

If you have a pre-shot routine, stick to it. It will help you to mentally block out any poor shots previous. Don't rush your shots and don't get overly concerned with one bad hole. Play a sensible recovery when out of position and don't go for the hero shot as @MadGolfer76 mentions.

Aside form the golf, make sure you eat and stay hydrated. It will help you keep your focus.

Don't be afraid to go to your 'go to' shot even if it seems out of place and especially the first tee. Being in the short grass 200 yards out is way better then a penalty and will help calm those nerves.

If you're that worried about a potential cart buddy problem, just walk to start with.

These two day things are about energy. You've gotta maintain a level amount of throughout the tourny. Birdie or bogey don't waste energy with the associated emotions or they'll wear you out and burn you out.

Play the course and not the player. Focus on your round completely and take a deep breath. Every player feels some sort of pressure. Like others have said, you can lose the tournament on the first day if you make a mistake and let it get to you. Shoot your best score and the let the scores fall where they will.

If you hit your irons well and aren't always sure about the driver... hit an iron off the tee if there is ob close, or a nasty spot in range. Even on a par 5... you will make an easy par. Trust me on this..

Center of the green is your friend. Don’t go flag sniping when a two putt par is a great score. Play smart. Use a green light, yellow light, red light approach to your approach shots.

Drop the kids off at the pool the night before or first thing in the morning. Also, review the local rules.

The night before the event, make wild passionate love with your Significant Other. Do the same thing the night before the second round and maybe the morning of the final round. You'll be relaxed beyond belief and it will take the edge off any nerves you might have.

Don't change your warm-up from what you would normally do. If you never hit range balls or any sort of warm-up. DON'T start now. Treat it like any other day.
