Kuro Kage 60 Silver TINI v Ping Tour 65

Hi

Just wondering if anyone had views on these two shafts at all. Have a G400 Max with the Ping tour 65 and whilst a fine feeling shaft, can feel a little boardy at times. Just wondering if anyone had compared the two or knew how they might differ.

The DC will feel softer. The Tour 65 is closer to the Tour Stiff DC than it is to the Stiff DC. At least that's how it feels to me. All are good shafts IMO

I'm surprised that you find the Tour 65 to be boardy, its not overly tip stiff and I believe the torque is around 4.3. Its made by UST and similar in feel to their Chrome shaft. I've hit the Kuro Kage Silver and don't think you would find that any less or more boardy than the Tour, similar kick point and torque to the Tour. DC refers to Dual Core which is the current version of the Silver TiNi. Personally, I wouldn't compare Ping's Tour shaft to "Tour" versions from other manufacturers, I don't think the Ping shaft plays overly stiff to its stated flex.

Dual Core. Its the Mid/Mid Kuro Kage version compared to the XD which is Low/Low. I game the Dual Core. It feels stable, but not boardy. I get a little quick and aggressive sometimes, it's a fault. The shaft is much better when I'm a little smoother, but can still hold up when I go after it(105 Swing Speed. +2-4˚ AOA). It's a good shaft. I can't compare to Ping though.

Yeah by DC I meant the Dual Core Tini that Ping offered in the g400. I thought that's what you were talking about.

Has anyone compared the spin of these 2 shafts? The reason I ask is that I’m only getting 1900 spin with the tour shaft stiff 10.5*. 103 swing speed. I could use 200-300 more rpm’s.

I play the Tour65 in regular fit by Ping. The KK in stiff was the next best option for me. Note that for that one the fitter had me go stiffer in the KK. KK had a little higher launch and spin, but not by leaps and bounds.

The KK is a little smoother, but the Tour feels more stable to me. One person's stable can be another's boardy, so the KK may be worth a shot.

Fitter felt I could go either way, but I've had good success with the Tour65 so I stayed with it. But if I were to go for a non-Ping model that offered the KK as an option there's a good chance I'd go that way.
