What is your wedge set up?

I have been struggling to find the perfect gaps in wedges and finding a good wedge setup. I am wondering what you guys are rocking and what works well for you? I know for sure that I want to roll with a 60 degree wedge. Love my SM6 60 but other than that not sure what I want to roll with as I do not like to bag a 56.

50° 56° 62°. Use 56° the least. This is based on a 46° PW.

Okay nice. I used to play a 52, 56, and 60 but for some reason cannot hit the 56. I was rolling with a 52, 54, and 60 for a while but didn't use the 54 much. Also what brand of wedges do you play?

50, 54, 58 with a PW of 45

I go 46 degree wedge and then 52 58. I used to run with a 50 54 58 set up but found I barely used my 54 as I would usually just use my 50 for most in between shots. Going 52 58 has opened up a slot in the top of the bag and gives me more versatility off the tee.

I'm going with only a 56* on top of my 50* or 51* PW. Sometimes, I use a 58* instead of the 56*.

45 PW, 50 GW, 56 SW, 60 LW.

45 pw (apex), 56 (Cleveland), 60 (Cleveland), 64 (Cleveland), 72 (bombtech)

sm6 f 50, s 54, k 58

My PW is 49 or 50, so I have a 54, 58 and rotate in a 52 and 56 as needed.

My wedges are Nakashima. Little known brand. I've had these for about 3 years and will have to make the change eventually. Probably go Honma this next go-around. But, like you, I use my 56° the least. I'm either grabbing my 50°, or my 62°. Wedges are so personal.

Set PW and GW (46*/50*) and then either some TI Cleveland 588 RTG's in 54*/58* (tho do have a full wedge set from 46 to 62 in these) or Edels in same lofts only with higher bounce. All have same shafts.

I've been 46-52-58 for the last four years. This year I find myself quite often between the 52 and 58. My T7 wedges are two seasons and about 110 rounds in. I'm strongly considering switching to 50-54-58.

52-56-60.

Tried going 54-58 for a few years, but never liked the 58.

Use the 56 for bunkers and most shots 100 and in.

52 for 110-115.

60 for flops, or when short sided.

I dumped my set PW in favor of a 46* SM7. After the 46* are a 54* and a 60*.

43* set pw and then vokey 48F, 54F (bent 53*), 58D

43 PW & 48 GW from my iron set along with 52 & 56 Vokeys. Dropped the 60 degree. Keep thinking about changing to a 54 & 58.

It depends on how one works their short game and what they can do--- Personally for me it is the 48* PW 56* SW and 60* LW. I do not go by gap numbers and worry about the gap numbers that much. I can feather down the 47 between 49 to 55. I mostly use the 60 out of greenside bunkers. the 56 is my work horse wedge. I am very old school though. But I do not worry about gap numbers themselves. Nothing at all wrong with how you or anyone else gaps their wedges and if you carry 5 instead of 3 like I do. Got to make it work for your game either way

52,56,60 RTX 3

A decent gap between my PW and 52 but it works for my game - the PW is 135ish and the 52 is 115-120 max. 56 is essentially my 100 yard club and the 60 is anything inside 75 yards. I don’t like going hard with my 56 and 60. I will go hard at the 52 if the yardage works out and I’m feeling it but generally I’d rather club up with my wedges and really focus on contact.

Which is what works for me - no real “full” swings with my wedges, focus on contact so I hit it solid and club up if I’m not sure.

What do you use the 72 for??

I dont understand some of you guys logic. Loft isn't everything .

I carry a 46 pw a 50 gap ( low bounce) and 54 (high bounce).

Why dont you guys consider bounce?

We do. Everyone does. Bounce is about as important as relief on a wedge. Its also only relevant per player as bounce is not as universal as loft.

It’s all to do with versatility and bounce for me.

I have a PW from my AP2 then 50, 54, 58

My 50 and 58 have 8 degree of bounce and my 54 12. The 54 is my chipping club and if it’s lying bad I can just half swing and trap the back of the ball. Something I can’t do with the other wedges. I feel that having the higher bounce just gives me a cushion in which to get me out of certain situations. My 58 I always open up and never hit it “square” and 50 is just a 105-110 yardage club.

They all get used roughly the same too.

Been working with 52° and 60° as of late. The 52° I use for 110 yards and in as well as chipping and bumps and runs. 60° really only comes out for greenside bunkers and flop-like greenside shots.

48* pw, 54*, 60* with soles ground to fit my preferences, have used similar for years through various models, works well for me and how I like to play various shots. Find what works well for your delivery and conditions, irrespective of stated loft or bounce, it's all about the craftsman, not the tool.

I chip with it if it's the right play from anywhere 15 yards up to about a 55 yard pitch. from 20-55 yards I always use the 72 not matter what if off the green - unless it's short grass and I can putt the ball.

52* gap is Similar to 46* set PW bounce. Full swing should overlap effective PW coverage.

56/58* with a 10 or 12 bounce. Heel relief with usable bounce for sand, lob/flop shots.

He uses 8 iron for rollout green shots.

50/54/60

I have a 48* PW for reference.... 54 & 60

46, 51, 56, 60. 46 and 51 are my iron set wedges. 56 and 60 are Cleveland RTX4 satin chrome.
