TGM - over acceleration

I think TGM stuff is right on depending who's instructing. But for anything to work the sequence has to be correct. I've heard TGM explain lack thereof as "over acceleration." But what are the ways TGM provides to manage this?

Interesting done some research and per tgm it seems sensed and regulated with hand pressure points.

i think requiring a conscious wrist unhinge/uncock in the downswing before left forearm rotation/roll to square the face and beyond makes TGM difficult and likely for over acceleration as any momemtum built in start of downswing can be broken

What makes you think that has to be conscious or even has to happen at all? TGM doesn’t say it has to

In my recollection "overacceleration" is the opposite of "maintaining lag pressure", it is felt in the hands but that could be misused: one could over accelerate the arms in an attempt to keep the pressure on #3.... Lag Pressure in TGM correspond to the lag of every swing component wrt to the previous one (from feet to hands), in more modern terms it would relate to keeping the kinetic chain functional.

As always with TGM: this is my understanding and I've been wrong in the past.

Well I've been working on ppt#3 awareness throughout the swing, im liking where it's headed. Both path and tempo improvements.

I could be wrong, but the TGM I learnt allowed one to choose their own components. There simply isn't ONE single thing or sequence to follow. Sure teachers teach their preferences, but it's literally a smorgasbord of components to piece together.

Basically if you over accelerate a component it throws the clubhead. Be deliberate, positive and heavy. Slow it down until you can feel the heavy clubhead.

Now, did HK just mean don’t be quick and jerky? Possibly but I think he meant more than that and felt theoretically mass trumps acceleration. Being deliberate seems at odds with swinging fast to me and would tend to being too slow. Who knows, maybe HK wasn’t much of an an athlete and maybe would have accepted a bent left wrist and changed his mind if he had ever felt swinging at 90mph with a 7 iron or 110+ with driver. They are probably all ‘throwing it’ on tour but maybe that is simply how it is best done.

All the stills I are bent to flat leading wrists. If anything they're securing it even further with very bent wrist at top like DJ and Rahm. Impact fix is an imperative that works with physics , nothing that "modern" equipment could over ride. Maybe "smash factor" doesn't drop off as much away from the sweet spot as much however.
