Am ordering the Mizuno HMP’s, the problem is I can’t decide between the Recoil 95’s and the Project X LZ Tour. I have tried both and numbers are similar. I am having to go back to regular graphite to combat elbow and wrist pain. I am a slower swinger, 80mph 7 iron. Do any of you have any firm opinions on either shaft..... All feedback greatly appreciated........

I thought the LZ in Tour 5.0 Reg. felt kinda dead. The 6.0 Tour Felt a bit more alive, but had very similar numbers to the Recoils indoors.
The Recoils felt more lively in both F3 and F4. I played them before in F3 and could overpower them a tad. ( My 7 iron ss is around 78-80, 150yrds).
But I don't go by #'s only and need to see the flight outside, off grass. I was ready to pick up a set of HMP's , but I could never hit them outside and the indoor #'s were too low spin.

Find the LZs a bit firmer? Recoils then?

Thanks for your replies, that’s definitely 2 votes for the Recoils, I was probably leaning that way as I know that shaft better.......

    Can't go wrong with Recoil.
PS, 80 mph with a 7 iron isn't really "slow".

    Cobra F9 14.5 - Atmos Blue Stiff
Callaway Epic Hybrid - Recoil 780 stiff

Unfortunately Mizuno don’t offer the SmacWrap as one of their standard shafts.....

The 780 SmacWrap doesn't offer anything you need vs the 95.

The biggest difference between the two shafts is the weight. Recoil's are roughly 10 gm heavier than the PX LZ graphite. And getting the weight "right" is generally much more important than the profile.

The general numbers may have averaged out the same but how was the dispersion between the two when you tested them? That's where the weight tends to play a bigger role for many.
