Lower lofted TM hi-toe reviews? Anyone?

Anyone have a review on the lower lofted hi-toe wedges? I’m looking to add the 52 in the bag and replace my RTX4. Looking for a lower/flatter flight.

Ive got a 54. Love it. Its very similar to the MG wedges they make.

...quite keen on these - how are you all finding the various grinds, are they flexible enough?

Also, I recall in other threads that different finishes may become available - is anyone able to please update on that development?

at one point I carried a 50 , 54 , and 58 in the Hi-Toe. maybe its a mental thing b/c I play blades, but I didn't care to look at the 50 and 54 when I was in the fairway.... I had the 58 first a month before by itself and absolutely loved it which led me to get the 50 and 54. I simply prefer going back to smaller head blade wedges in the lower lofted clubs

I do think performance is fine, but I think where the idea of the Hi-toe shines is out of rough or sand shots. I actually play the rtx4 also.

If you're looking for a lower/flatter flight youre better off getting a different shaft in there

they still just have the raw/chome/black finishes available through the custom "MyHiToe" option on the TM website, not sure if those will ever be available in a stock offering but it would be nice if that happened

I think the Hi-Toe line up is the best. The grinds are perfect. I like the 4-way camber option on the 56, 58, and 60, but you only have one option on the lower lofted wedges and they are just perfect too. I have the 54 and 60. The stock KBS HI-Rev 2.0 120 shaft is not exactly low launching but it’s a great shaft. It’s been very easy for me to control the distance and flight and I play X-Flex in all my other clubs. The whole combo makes it easy to hit full or partial shots and because I know the shaft is softer than most my other clubs, I can swing easier and get very consistent numbers out of these wedges on partial shots. You can always custom order with your shaft of choice anyhow.

Taylormade also removed weight from the sole by cutting out the pockets, so I get really good controlled flight out of them.

Playing 50, 54, 58 at the moment, no real complaints. The 58 has given me a ton more confidence out of greenside bunkers to the point I don't mind going into certain traps in my home course.

I wasn't a fan of my 50* so i just switched to a Vokey SM7. I think it was more the shaft than anything that made me not like the Hi-toe because I seemed to hit it too high so I would constantly come up shorter than my 50's usually go. Maybe with a custom shaft to help it launch lower would make it better. I still have my 60* Hi-toe and love it.

On line shows 115 gram shaft so grab a dgs300/400 and with tip weight if needed to 125 grams that should lower flight and solve issues?

I have a high toe set up. 50/54/58. My first preference is to look down on similar wedges, which is why I did this. I would not say the stock options have a low/flat flight. You can make some shaft changes to lower the flight, but as it is, that’s just not the ball flight I think about when i think high toe.

Second question, the tm website offers a the standard (copper-ish?) finish, black, chrome and raw( if I recall). Unfortunately, they offer personalization but not customization.

The unwanted/un-asked-for advice. Ben Hogan equalizer has moved the cg up higher on lower lofted wedges and lower on higher loft wedges, specifically to get a lower/flatter ball flight on the 48-52 degree wedges. This is the opposite of what vokey sm7’s did. Maybe try an equalizer wedge?

I have a 50 and really like it. I use it as a gap wedge with mostly full swings, so I have the shaft matched to my irons, and it is just fine.

I have a number of hi toes I cycle through from 50 to 64. My favorite wedges to play, good spin easy to control flight good feel.

Waiting for these to drop in price to add a 50 and 54. Great looking lower lofted heads.

Anyone able to compare a 60 atv vs 60 4way. I own the atv and enjoy it. But am debating also grabbing a 4way.

Pros cons strengths weakness of each?

Same boat, but different. Thinking the ATV is not for me.

I've been trying to find a 50 and 54 to hit to check it out myself, not in the market to replace y current wedges in those lofts but just curious. I moved to the 58 this year and love it around the greens, I'm finally starting to get it down for fuller shots, but I've struggled hard with distance control and that's why I'm curious about the 50/54. I think after a good chunk of the season and a lot of practice with it I'm finally starting to get the 58 under control, but it was a process.
