DG s300 amt tour white vs s200 amt vs px 5.5

I have a 10 yr old iron set with 1in longer px 5.5 shaft and the swing weight set around D6. Recently, the irons feel heavy and I tried the 718 cbs with s200 amt and it felt great. There was a set with s300 amt tour white and when “air swing” it compared to my old irons side by side, it felt about the same in weight wise. Should I just go with s200 amt? How are they weight and performance wise? [718s were about 0.5 to 0.25 in shorter btw] Another option was nspro 950 but i feel like that would be too light.

the difference between S200 and S300 is very minor, since TT just weight sorts those shafts and they are from the same production. The main difference between DG AMT and PX is, that AMT shafts get lighter for the longer irons to make them easier to launch. With the Ascending Mass Technology it might be helpful for you in the long irons without losing control with the short irons. Only bad thing about those AMT shafts is, that you rarely can demo a Wedge, a #7 and a #4 iron to see, if the concept works out for you.

 

NS Pro 950 in the other hand is a completly different animal. Way lighter, way softer over all and different EI Profile. It might fit you, but the difference in static weight is pretty significant.

Hey hobbygolfer thanks for the explanation. Yeah i read about the amt and i like the concept so really would like to try it out.

If the difference between the s200 amt and s300 amt is minor should i just stick with s300? Its tour white version and saw the white version is on the heavier side compared to red and black?

I don't think you can draw any conclusions from "air swinging" two clubs, especially when they are built to different lengths. I don't think I would be making any changes just based on how heavy a club feels. Aside from the heavy feeling, what is it about your current ball flight and distance that you want to improve? If you are also looking at 950GH then you probably don't have a clear understanding of how different shafts perform and might be well advised to go for a fitting. I don't thing anyone who has played PX 5.5 for 10 years would consider the 950GH, even if they were an aging golfer dealing with injury issues.
