My current irons - Srixon Z745. I'd love it if the sole was just a smidge narrower but otherwise, it's perfect. I'd be interested in trying the PX Catalyst 100 in it but that's about it.

I did try the new Titleist 620CB and they are damn close too.

I'm in the process of having my Masda FastBlades done in a DLC finish, then going to MOI match them in a month or so. That's been my plan for quite awhile, just never got around to doing it.

I like a slightly longer heel to toe, slim top line profile, squarer toe, thinner sole iron head.

I'm playing my AP1's until the end of the year, and then I will be on the hunt.

My iron set is perfect at the moment with respects to fit, custom loft and lie, gapping, feel and of course results.

Callaway 18mb (2-PW) lofted between (17* to 49*) and my RTX-4 are set at 55* from 54* and 62* from 60*.

Bumped up 2* lie and now hitting controlled draws which eliminates he dreadful two way miss.

These are pretty damn close to perfect...if the toe was a hair squarer and they were satin...Srixon Z Forged might be the perfect iron. But they are really good as is

Well, I am a pretty lousy ball striker and I have a difficult time elevating irons. However, I do much better with thin soled irons. Given that, the perfect iron design for me would have a thin sole, yet with a ton of weight down low, and a lot of offset. Oh, and I like a smaller head with a thin top line. As far as I know, there is nothing on the market that comes close to that. Ping Eye 2s are probably the closest.

The perfect set of irons for me would have all low offset, consistent loft gaps, control/feel in short irons, height/forgiveness in long irons. If I ever find that set, I'll get back to this thread.
