Wedge shaft

Hi

Im sure this has been asked before, but im looking to get some new wedges, since they are getting worn out

Atm i got Cleveland RTX3 and would like the same wedges again, since i can still get those at a good price, but im unsure, if i should get the standard shafts ( Dynamic gold i think ? ) or get some with shafts that match my iron set more

Im using Mizuno 919 forged with Nippon 105 X-flex, but not sure what wedge shaft i should go for

I can choose between 105-120-130 nippon shafts in the Cleveland RTX 3 model

I only hit my 50 degree full and got a 54 and 58. Will hit the 54 and 58 full from time to time ofcourse, depending on what im trying to do

I do like to chip with my 50 around the greens and 58 and those are also the most worn out wedges i have

Thanks in advance

Gap wedge should match your irons.

For my sand and lob wedges I am probably in the minority but I like to go heavier and/or stiffer for my 54 because I use it exclusively for pitch and chip shots. I then go same weight but one flex softer for lob wedge as that is my bunker/fluffy lie club and I like the softer feel.

So I do c-taper s+ in my gap wedge, 610-120 in my sand wedge, and hi rev 115 in my lob wedge.

How do you like playing PX 6.5s in your wedges? Curious since when I order T100's I'm likely getting them in PX 6.5s. About to test out $-tapers this weekend but really like PX. I currently have DG S400s which are good but totally different feeling shafts than PX so kind of worries me with them once I get my new irons.

I was also having this dilemma but ended up going with the same shafts in my irons for my wedges PX 6.5. Very happy with the decision. Wedges feel great and still have plenty of spin. PX actually feels great in wedges to me. They are a tad lighter than DG so the swing weight is a little lighter, but almost hard to tell any difference

PX in the wedges was the "logical" next step for me about 10 yrs ago. PX shafts had clearly led to a drastic improvement in my iron play over Dynamic Golds....it just didn't make sense to continue struggling with DG shafts in the wedges any longer. Once I made the switch, many of the inconsistency issues I was having with my wedges seemed to vanish immediately. Distance control was much better and accuracy greatly improved.....apparently, I was experiencing the same issues with my wedges that had plagued me with DG shafted irons, just never really connected the dots at the time.

Have noticed nothing negative on shots closer to the green either.....chips, pitch shots, flop shots and bunker shots are all very consistent and repeatable. In my experience the PX shafts in the wedges have led to very little, if any, spin reduction on the delicate shots around the green. One of the best things I have ever done for my short game.

I had JPX 900 Tours with the Nippon 105X straight in. For my gap wedge, I used the 105X straight in. For my sand and lob wedges, I used 105X soft stepped. Worked really well, and I'm still rocking the same wedges with my new AP2's.
