I am planning to buy new footwear, and I would like to know your recommendations. Beyond the aesthetics I'm really interested in the overall performance on the course and the durability. Nowadays I am using some Under Armour shoes and I find them quite rigid.

I don't think that you can beat foot joy personally. Have used Puma before and not even close in comparison

I went to spikeless and I have loved it, got some adidas and a pair of footjoy. I had trouble finding a pair of Foot joys that I really liked looking out but the comfort will totally make up for it.

i actually just started wearing the Under Armour Mens Spieth II this season and honestly they are really good and comfortable. i would say they took about 5 rounds to really break in and now they are perfect. Ive always worn different Footjoys but these are very close to being my favorite

Pretty big fan of the Nike Air Max's I picked up recently. First go with the whole spikeless jam and they're definitely more comfy than spiked.

Of course, it's also a pretty classic shoe design that's still great some 30 years on - could have something to do with it.

They are expensive but G4 is the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. Don't think it will help you for a year but I got some for 50% off at year end sale.

Nike Janoskis are also very very comfy and I even wear them for regular shoes. They look feel like skate shoes. Great grip too though.
Have to agree with aenemated about the Air Max 1Gs too but haven't got a pair yet.

I have Footjoy, Addidas, Sketchers, Ecco, and Callaway. I don't notice any difference in performance or durability. Nike and Puma are too narrow for my feet. A lot of good golf shoes out there.

I won't wear anything but ECCO anymore. Adidas used to have Samba styled golf shoes which actually just popped back up on Ebay and those are a close 2nd, though not waterproof.
When my set is spent, back to the minimalist style, I go. VivoBarefoot trail shoes are awesome.
