That swing is annoyingly "smooth" haha

Wow! A lot of good European golf. To bad that many on this board won't be watching and if so not enjoying the cultural differences of this tour. For many WRXers golf doesn't start until April and I agree with the fact that it is their right, but to me this part of the year is an opportunity to enjoy the game from both sides of the pond. Pga Tour starting soon......Golf galore!

Is Sergio playing a Titleist golf ball? Looked like a Pro V1 side stamp from the close up picture before he hit wedge shot.

Could be, he was using a Taylor Made ball a few weeks back. Clearly not getting the performance he wants from the Callaway ball and he mustn't be contractually obliged to use it.

Didn't realize that thought he had been playing with Chrome Soft X since he signed with Callaway.

The OWGR points are SoF 75/ first place points the minimum 24
Virtually the same numbers as the 2019 John Deere Classic. (76/24)

swing is irrelevant, score is everything

just say NO.... to practice swings

Thomas with a great round and eagle on the last.

Thomas Detry is consistent at making cuts but he needs to lift his game to have more top 10 finishes!

Great tournament so far by 18 year old rookie Nikolai Højgaard! 3rd place, 2 shots behind. Turned pro in April.
He has a twin brother Rasmus Højgaard who is also a great talent.

Garcia using a carry bag too.

Taped yesterdays round, saw it on my trainer bike this morning. That young southern scandinavian Höjgård made the most **** teeshot I’ve seen since Scheiderjeans with the driving Iron a few years ago. A real stinger, that trackman flight sent goosebumps down my neck. To say that I wish I could copy that shot is very much an under-exaggeration.

Edit. You can figure out those stars yourself.

Højgaard looks so thin and lanky, but wow he can move the ball. I think he hit his 3 wood about as long as Sergio Garcias drive on the par 5 3rd hole.

  • HankshankHankshank Members Posts: 1,772 ✭✭✭✭✭✭

Callum Shinkwin, built like a ”linebacker”, as the saying goes, that dialect even beats Fleetwood anno 2016 and Willett. And must be the coolest name on tour.

  • diavolodiavolo Members Posts: 19 ✭✭

Come to think of it Højgaard looks like a younger Thomas Pieters. Great bunker shot on 11th for a sure birdie. Højgaard only 1 shot behind now!

Højgaard is 2 shots behind Garcia with 1 hole left. Højgaard has a makeable eagle putt on the last hole.
Yesterday he only had a pitching wedge left on the second shot on the 527 yard par 5

  • diavolodiavolo Members Posts: 19 ✭✭

Højgaard missed the eagle putt. Garcia got his par on the 18th and won by one shot.
Højgaard will for sure have a bright future. He is not just an unknown young talent. Last year he won the European Amateur Championship.

Trying to organise a golfing trip to Holland. Lads are keen. Wives and girlfriends less so. No idea what the fuss is.
