Shot 2 over the other day

I had shot even par about 5 years ago, had not come close again since. A few 76-79 rounds throughout the year - but never threatened par...and this is after overhauling my bag with better fitted equipment last year.

Went out friday to a familiar course and shot a 90, only hit 2 greens in regulation. Felt that I knew what I wanted to do differently, but just could not get myself to do it.

Saturday was a course I had not played in a few years. It was in poor location. Greens were punched with large holes and no sand. Soft greens, so lots of ill repaired divot marks. Putting was bumpy and goofy, very slow.

Started out with a 3 putt par on a par 5. Was hitting the ball well. Had 2 bogeys on the front, the rest pars

Back 9, I continued to hold it together. Made a bogey, then sunk a 25 footer for a birdie.

Made bogey on a par 3 (putt kicked offline at last roll), then a kick in birdie on a par 4.

Another bogey on a par 3 due to a wavy putt, then finished with a well played par 5 birdie (made a 6 foot putt) to finish even par on the back

74 total - I felt I left a few out there.

Hit 14/14 fairways (meh - was probably just barely off for 3 of the holes)

Hit 12/18 greens which was the most I have had in a long time

32 putts

Hope I remember the tempo and feeling during my ballstriking for future rounds.

Sure you do. Good round, Monkeyboy. I bet you were swinging freely. Take out the tension of "trying to score" and your scores will go down.

It seemed the new fitted golf club are coming along fine. Golfers don't understand, a fitted set of golf clubs needs to be worn in just like a new pair of shoes.

I hate the freshly Aerify sanded green. don't like to play it even with discounted green fees.

I have no friends and all my pets have always run away. Ohh and btw great round MB. Hopefully many more to come.

Friends= more people you have to help move. Acquaintances > Friends

I've always found that increasing my golf budget for the year has a strong correlation to my scoring average. While you did kick azz under crappy conditions, I think you would find yourself closer to par more often if you were to pay $100-300 per round or join a club for about $100,000. Just my opinion.

Nope. Gearhart was almost $100 and was epic, I hope to play a few times this year. But I usually pay under $25 for 9 (I don't have time for 18 during the week). 

I joined a club last year, but it was $700 for the year. 🤣 

I can't justify golf over hookers and blow. My budget only goes so far. 

Arent the best rounds boring how smoothly they go? Its kinda wierd. Its almost like eventless lol i shot 79 for first time this past summer should have been 76 77 78... but i got a touch nervous and lost my swing on two par 3s of all things... had to recover from bad tee shots with terrible views to the hole. Managed a few bogeys and a par to hold off to the 79... and that was a 3 footer with a touch of break 😱... everything was smooth till the last 3 holes.
