Cobra T-Rail irons

Interesting, maybe they are trying to make something that acts like baffler rails for irons? Or maybe Tungsten weighting in the shape of a T?

Saw a demo 7 iron today at PGA superstore. They pulled it out of the warehouse after an older gentlemen asked if they had it yet. I hit it after he did. Not for me, but they look techy and get the ball in the air. For the right person i could see these improving scores from a more traditional set. not an f9 replacement though. this is super super improvement.

These are intriguing coming from Cleveland Altitude irons.

From the top they remind me of the Adams Idea Tech irons

These are more hybrid looking with a hollow body construction.

On looks alone, they are the best I've seen in the category: understated cosmetics, minimal tech branding. If I were in the market for that type of set, they would be at the top of my list.

Big difference from the Baffler XL, which I posted about long before there were pics of these new irons available.

IMO, the new Cleveland Launchers look far, far better than these. I'll reserve any real judgement until I see them in hand, however.

I'm curious about the blade length of the T Rails. To me the Clevelands always seemed a bit short heel/toe for an SGI iron.

Best club I've hit in this hybrid-iron set category is the Tour Edge Hot Launch 2; will be interested to test the Cobras to see how they stack up. Variable face thickness in this type of hollow, thin-faced iron is essential IMO, so I'm eager to see how well Cobra's E9 face tech works.

I find him entertaining. He is a bit of fresh air to the "lets get stuck in" crowd.

Agreed. These don't look bad at all. They're Cobra's and they're going to work, just will they be better than what's already out there? That remains to be seen.

I didn't mind the Launchers, I found them to be a big improvement over the Altitudes in ballflight and forgiveness. Still, these are Cobras, which is almost a guarantee for "high and straight" when it comes to their SGI clubs.

I haven’t hit the Trails with the FST shaft but have hit it with a few other steel shafts like the $Taper Lite, , Modus 105, TT XP95, AMT White and a few others I can’t Remember.

I’m not huge on sound and feel though but nothing felt out of place with the TRail.

I game 588 Altitudes which are very tinky sounding. The Cobras were more muted than my irons.

I suppose these hybrid-iron type clubs fall into the super-game-improvement (SGI) category. Normally, I can’t stand to look at SGI irons, but these ... with PVD black shafts ... and I’m clenching my fist and biting a knuckle.
