New Titleist AVX?

Since the AVX was released in 2018, will there be a new version in the next few months? I haven't really seen or heard anything and was just curious if anyone had heard anything.

Not sure. I see a lot lying gathering dust on shelves. I know of one player in our club who uses them all the time (he used to hit it way too high). Tour Soft on close out as well. Titleist having a tough time in the UK with Srixon, Callaway and Bridgestone all under cutting them by £5-10 a dozen in our local stores. Finally seeing Bridgestone take some market share.

I hope that doesn't mean they will discontinue them. I love the ball and have no performance complaints but if they do update it I hope they make it a little firmer as it can feel too soft at times to me.

Again, I ask the question, is the EXP-01 gonna be the AVX replacement, when its refined? I am hearing cover issues with the EXP-01...

There’s no guarantee the exp01 is going to be refined and that’s straight from titleist.

Very popular ball in my neck of the woods as well. I like them and know a lot of people that play them.

Love this ball and also expecting an "upgrade" next year...

Still my ball of choice, I hope they don't change the ball too much if/when the newer version comes out

Isn't this the time of year when manufacturer's start to offer price drops when they're planning to release a new version in the coming season? The AVX is still at $48 at the major online retailers, so that has me thinking they likely don't have an AVX update coming out in their typical two year release cycle.

I've been playing it for a bit over the year and generally really like it. I'd love to see a price drop so I can scoop up some more.

You can get a similar playing 2 piece ball from all the other manufacturers for half the price.

The current version was released in April 2018. If ones coming the announcement might be made at pga show and then price drop at that point

I haven't found anything to date with the lower ball flight that AVX gives me. Open to suggestions, though!

I have never had a 2 piece ball spin and check on chip shots like an AVX. Q Star Tour balls are closer to AVX, but still don't check as much as I would like.

def my fav ball. tried the left dash and had too much spin.

Doubt it. If we go based on what titleist is saying the exp-01 might not have anything done to it and could go away or they could use what they in it with the rest of their line. Any thing at this point about either a new avx or what happens with the exp is all speculation.

Please identify them for us, because I've yet to find anything else that performs like the AVX does.

I keep trying to find a ball like that, and nothing can do what it does. That's why I just keep getting them or maybe mix in a ProV1 on occasion when I need a little more spin. This is a great ball.

Tried the AVX, but got inconsistent distance control w/ mid irons. @ times, distance was off by over 1 club. It's the only ball (other than the early TP5, for me had wedge distance issues) that had created so much variation in iron distances.

Just got the AVX 'test" ball, higher flying and a little harder

If anything, I see the EXP ball to turn into the Tour Soft replacement that will go head to head against Project A and Q Star Tour.

You see more than titleist states ?

I am still confused with the Exp, I like the ball...it sounds like it will be even closer to the new AVX? will it come out as a reg ball in production... and if it does, what do you choose exp-01 or new AVX :)

What’s to be confused about. Titleist stayed it’s an experiment ball they wanted feedback from the general golfing population on and hadn’t even had their pros test yet so very early in testing phase as well as having no idea if it would see the light of day on any fashion.

New avx is out and has a different design and dimple count than the exp so it’s clear that exp wasn’t the ball that became the new avx.
