So, I've heard that the January release will be the G710 irons. No new woods. Anyone else have info yet?

410 woods just came out this March. Don't look for anything new there until next fall at the earliest.

Our owner said the rep came in with the 710s. He said they're pretty bad ass. The black finish looks good. He's not sure about the black finish will hold up, but from his eye, there were some improvements to the G700. He didn't elaborate.

Any idea on a release date? I’ve heard of a possible October release

The rep wasn't sure as yet. They're not in full production. He said not to quote him (HA!), but think PGA Show, maybe a little sooner.

I'm pretty sure it wont be this year. More like January. Perhaps as TBow said, maybe just before the show. Or if is a show launch, then probably wouldn’t see them in stores until Feb.

With the 700s I believe Info surfaced in Jan, demos came out in March and in stores in April IIRC.

Trying to wrap my head around how the black finish will look. Will it be like the stealth wedge finish ? If so those hold up great.

Any accent colors.

The proto he saw had no accent colors. But it is a proto so anything can happen before it goes final. If there was any criticism of the Stealth's you couldn't tell what you were grabbing if you weren't paying attention. All black can be an issue at times.

White paintfill in the loft takes care of that issue

And we did a lot of that for our customers on request. But we also gave PING feedback that it would be good if they did that so we wouldn't have to.

I just got back from Phoenix ...... hit the 710s and they are beautiful ....... the click sound is gone since they filled them with a polymer and trust me the black will hold up.

They will be released in time for the PGA show with new putters also.

New drivers and fairways will be released in April/May not in the fall.

Hmmm, I suppose that means that the next version of the i500's will also get the polymer, whenver they may be due.

I generally agree with this. If forced, I'm OK with a tad smaller but I hope they do not reduce the offset. I'm either going to go for the complete hacker club (G700 or GMax iron would be fine) or try something noticeably smaller (maybe i500 if there is an update, although some have said this line may die and the 710 could be a bit more progressive/combo like --- no idea if any of this is true). I think I'm trying to avoid the middle ground like the G410 or i210 (both great clubs though).

I’m in the middle coming from g25 and now playing g410. I would be interested in a i500 style iron without the hollow clicky sound.

I hit the G700 and really liked them. The black color wearing on the soles is not a distraction to me at address.

By 2 year do you mean 24 months ? If so What happened to the 18 month cycle they switched to a few years back?

It's still an 18 month cycle. Met with our rep last week and he figures there will be a 210/500/410/iBlade update next fall. He showed me the acoustics readout from the G700 to the new 710 and it's impressive how they tuned the 710. He didn't say anything about it being filled with any kind of gel or foam so interesting to see where the truth really is on those when they come out PGA show-ish
