Ben Hogan Driver / Fairway Wood Testing

Appreciate WRX and the Ben Hogan company for giving me the opportunity to test the latest Driver and fairway woods. Just received an Email that said the clubs will be shipped out today, so being the next state up, they should arrive by Wednesday or Thursday at the latest.

My driving has always been fairly low height wise, with a good portion of distance coming from the roll out. The test driver will be sporting their high launch shaft at 10.5 club head loft with regular shaft, so it should be interesting to see if it can produce more height, which should equal more carry. It will be going against my current TM SLDR with the same shaft flex and head loft. The SLDR has a reputation of being somewhat inconsistent and at times could deliver some really good length on a well struck hit. Now I'm not that interested in a major distance gain, but not opposed to it either if it should happen, but rather more height/carry and better dispersion/fairways.

Now the fairway wood is up against some really strong competition. It's going against the TM RBZ HL 3 at 17 degrees. Yeah it's really a 4 wood, but the hot face makes up for the higher loft. The Hogan will be at 16 degrees, same shaft flex ® and length. The main thing I'll be looking for from the Hogan is a possible increase in distance, but it may be hard pressed to beat the TM.

Interesting note, Ft. Worth is my home town. My parents live almost 10 min away from BH just off Oak Grove. Im headed up there this Saturday. I'll bring them up to Leonard Golflinks for some testing.
