Filmed swing (back and front on views) - Looking for some input.

Trying to figure out why I'm thinning the ball so frequently and chunking occasionally. Hoping it's obvious to someone out here. Thanks for your help.

Not sure if the links become embedded videos or you have to click them. Either way, I've uploaded them to youtube. One is a front on view and one is a view from behind.

From the face on view you head shifts in front of (toward the target) during the backswing and even more during the downswing, from downline you early extend (hips pulling underneath you and cause your chest, arms, and hands to raise up. Both things lead to thin shots.

You can try to tilt your spine away from the target more at setup (positioning your head closer to over your right knee from face on view). Stick your rear end more out and up from a downline view you'd want a belt (if you were wearing one) pointing towards the shaft and ball. As you swing keep your right hip back to give your arms room to swing down into the space you didn't have because of the early extension. Improve your posture to improve your contact.

It looks like you are gripping the club at the very end of the grip. I would choke up a bit to help balance out the club feeling in your hands.

There are a lot of good things going on. I would suggest a few things. Starting the downswing take it easy with the hands, they are trying to move the club head ahead of your turn through, this is a loss of power that you are making up for with hand arm strength. The body turn should lead the club. The shaft angle you have at the top is pretty close to 90 degrees which is good, keep that angle until you get the club back to the ball. Releasing the club early from the top is making the club too long at impact, causing you to lift up about 5 inches before you make contact, causing thin shots if you lift too much, and chunks when you don't lift up. Keep the angle from the top and get the grip further ahead of the ball moving around left. That should allow the club to release later and more naturally. I would practice trying to keep the angle as long as you can without hitting a ball and rework the feeling of getting the clubbed back to the ball without releasing the angle. This should allow you to stay on the ball without lifting your head up before the ball is struck. Also create a better attack angle for irons that isn't as shallow, you need some nice divots in front of the ball. The club should reach its maximum length right after impact. Hope this helps some.

You have too much left tilt in the backswing and too close to the ball with hands to low at address. Your body is forced to pull off and there’s your thin.

Father away, hands higher and higher left shoulder, deer at the top.

That’s because your perception of your arms hanging from your shoulders is actually them too far in.

You are a little too much on your heels. You can see your head move towards the ball in the backswing and then back away from the ball in the downswing in the down the line video. For the next month, focus on making sure you are balanced properly heel to toe. Then come back here with more videos.
