Strange new vibration in driver shaft once loft/orientation is changed ... can someone explain/help?

Perhaps some club making/club fitting pros can help me out on this one...

Driver is 2017 TM M2 9.5* head. Shaft is a good, standard length (plays 45 in) GD AD DI-6 orange shaft I used to game in my older TM R11S driver, with no issues. I had my club maker swap the old tip to the newer TM tip, then used the shaft in my M2 head today at the range. At the standard loft setting, the shaft plays very well, no issues whatsoever. Solid hitting solid feeling.

Then, I rotated the shaft 2 notches towards higher loft - as you may know, the new tip allows for +/- 2 degrees adjustment over three steps -- I moved two steps in that direction -- for increased loft. Then, when striking the ball, I felt an odd, dull / wobbly vibration out of the shaft at impact. Like a shudder. Ball still flies well. Just have that strange vibration. I put the shaft back to standard orientation (STD loft) and the vibration is gone. Any thoughts? Tip not glued in correctly? What could be causing this...?

If a bad glue joint had enough play in it to vibrate then I imagine it would have failed. It sounds like a slightly wonky fit at that setting. Check to make sure there isn't any debris (dirt/epoxy residue/etc etc) on the tip anywhere that may compromise the fit. Same for inside the hosel on the driver itself.

Use foot powder spray to see how the face impact location might be effected by the hosel setting change. Different impact locations can easily result in different feels.

Another (less likely) possibility that comes to mind is that you happened to get a shaft with a high amount of asymmetry of the stiffness profile. But the only way to really test that possibility out is to FLO and measure the frequency of the spine and NBP to see how much they differ.

Where on the face did you make impact? it probably moved, and like Stuart suggest, shaft asymmetry might be playing a game with you. There are some shafts out from production that could have quite a large difference to flex depending on how it is installed, so if your hosel is of the type where the grips position changes vs face angle depending on hosel setting, it might be the reason. If the grips position remains the same, you can rule this out.
