Hard to get too pumped when BDC leads the notables playing!!

In all seriousness though, I am sure that I will catch some of this but the motivation levels for watching are relatively low.

The field is so good it is ahead of The Colonial and Quail Hollow.

This may be the strongest field in Las Vegas in two decades.

Phil's 25 year streak of being in the Top 50 could be in jeopardy. He's now ranked #44.

field...https://www.pgatour.com/tournaments/shriners-hospitals-for-children-open/field.html

Yes former champion Smylie Kaufmann is teeing it up

Graham DeLaet makes his first start in two years after back surgery. And Bo Van Pelt makes it back to back weeks after his 3 plus years away.

UNLV's John Oda also Monday qualified

Two sponsors exemptions for Akshay Bhatia trying to make his first cut as a pro and Chase Koepka.

Smylie coming into the event off the back of a 24th place finishing in a mini-tour event. Don’t get me wrong, it is nice to see him out there playing but shooting 68 in a mini-tour event is a big step below playing in the big leagues.

was social media some hidden cause of his not playing well? ... odd to sort of insinuate that it played a part ...

Phil with some kind of spider knock off..Is that the odyssey #10 I think... It has been a long time since he used anything other than a blade. He used a futura for a bit while with titleist but I think that is it.

Phil's putter looks so strange. I think that even a one week change might just help him recalibrate with his Odyssey 9, or he likes this putter and runs with it for awhile. It is a win-win. All it usually takes is a few holes to realize that you hate something.

Also he has hit some fairways today and still misses the green. So I think he needs to try something drastic with his irons. New shafts or something.

haha, I like kevin Na but the bad swing drop the club on the ground, walk away from it for the caddie to pick up is a bad look.

Kaufman gets roasted weekly by a few golf meme accounts on instagram. I dont know their fixation with him but its non-stop. I know a while back one of them went too far and maybe attacked one of his family members (PGAmemes I think?) and he made them issue an apology and take the post down.

I didnt think it affected him but apparently it did? They make fun of Patrick Reed weekly as well and he seems to be doing fine.

It is a daylight issue. Only 11 hours and 45 minutes for golf at this time of year in Las Vegas.

I can see why it would have an impact and whilst it would not be a direct cause of his poor play, spending too much time on there or being ripped constantly is going to affect the psyche of most people.

Why do I always get a kick out of watch Bryson hit a shot then look around totally confused as to what happened. In this instance he flew a wedges about 10 yards too deep. I dont have anything against the guy but for some reason I chuckle more when I see this reaction with him than others.
