I would first consider your address position set up. For example, ball position within the stance or perhaps your distance from the ball may be causing alignment issues and, or, a stroke which tends to miss putts left.

Putter head shape , neck style, offset amount etc... may influence performance about 10%, but I think the other 90% is technique.

Maybe take a putting lesson as most people who do find it well worth the money to learn improved technique. After that you can buy whichever putter you like most and will probably putt great.

There is some truth to that for sure, technique matters more than clubs. I will say that getting the right putter setup for your natural stroke can only help you. Out of 10 putts if you have the right putter fit you will make more than the wrong fit... but you will obviously make a few with any putter if you adjust your technique to fit the equipment. The goal with fitting is to have to make the fewest adjustments to your technique. To the OP’s original question, a face balanced putter with an arc stroke will tend to miss right due to the face not closing enough, but not to say the players stroke couldn’t pull putts to the left as well. Matching a flow neck, or slant neck to an arcing stroke will help square the face more often.

I understand what you write above is the theory and concept behind putter fitting (or fitting for any club). However , I think this is good sense only if the player has sound fundamental technique.

In other words, why fit equipment to match poor technique ? Doing so only promotes continued faulty technique.

Agreed on that, but as amateurs (at least in my case), I figure all our swings are flawed in some way. You gotta fit for the swing you make the most consistently. I am always trying to improve but I don’t see myself ever playing blade irons again, due to my inability to always hit pure iron shots.

Well, for iron or other long club fitting it is true that some players , due to age, physical limitations, lack of will or time take instruction and practice etc... are not going to learn proper swing technique.

But I think putting should be a category where players are willing and able to learn sound fundamental technique. For what it's worth, several of the "putter fit videos" I've seen include the fitter actually making technique recommendations.
