Stability Shaft

I felt it really felt more stable on long putts that you really had to hit firm. Didn't notice to much difference on feel on the short ones from a regular putter shaft.

I spoke to a directed force rep the other day about the putter. He said he did not see any real difference when using the shaft. I would like to test one myself but I will trust him as he could have told me it was great to earn more money from purchasing from him but he didn't. On the flip side, I have seen several comments from users on those forum mentioning that they think the shaft is great.

Interesting. Having owned a DF putter with their regular shaft and now owning one with the Stability (the original, not the revised version) I somewhat concur. BUT, imo, there is a difference. The DF is a very, very stable putter already so short putts, zero difference with the Stability. In my experience, where the Stability flat out performs are the longer putts, the longer the putt, the better it performs. The old putter shaft felt softer while the Stability felt stiffer and from what my eye sees, more accurate. At the end of the day, if you can afford, go get it and you'll appreciate the accuracy with the longer putts. My 2c

I would definitely love to try it with a DR putter but unfortunately my local dealer did not have a demo putter with that shaft. Did you get to try that shaft in a DF putter before purchasing it?

No, I did not get a chance to try it. I have no one even close by with a DF putter, let alone, one with a Stability shaft. Sure, it was a leap of faith but I talked to Bill.P before. I trust his recommendations. In the end, he reshafted my putter with the Stability as well as doing some additional work on it, like enhancing the sight lines.

Going from the non-Stability to the Stabilty, you get use to a more "chunkier" shaft. The shaft is still matt black so it blends in with the entire putter. The graphics is at the bottom and, flipping it, it really looks cool. Also, as I said, expect some more stiffness at impact. Distance control was not an issue once your mind wraps around the stiffer feel. Hope this helps you with your assessment :)

Im using a UST frequency filtered shaft. Its a cheaper option if you want to experiment with changing the shaft for the heck of it. Looks cool...putts the same ;)

I think people with a fast transition would benefit. One of my putters has a 365 gram head and when i'm a little quick in the back and through transition I can feel the head lag behind just a bit, but enough. If you have a smooth putting stroke its probably a waste of money. I personally would love to find one to swap in to my current putter and see if I notice that same feeling on quick transitions.

Is the stability shaft the same one as on the latest Odysseys ? Or is that one a Callaway proprietary shaft ?

Stoke lab shaft is more about counterbalancing the weight of the head (at least that is one of their key marketing points). If you pop off the grip, you can see the weight in the handle. I do not believe the stability shafts are counterbalanced.

I happened to go in for a putter fitting today and got to try a few putters with and without the stability shaft. The data did not show a significant difference in the head I was fitted for, there was a minor difference in benefit with the stability shaft, but no so much I would have noticed a big difference out on the course. With that said, for some reason I felt like the stability putter made the putter feel ever so slightly softer (maybe reduced vibration). I decided to go with the stability shaft anyway as I sort of wanted to try something new.

I have 3 putters and all 3 have a stability shaft. For me, I prefer the stiffness over a traditional steel shaft and did not alter the feel of the face. I saw my biggest improvements on mid-to-long range putts. Lag putts were much closer to the hole and on long putts, I didn't notice any vibrations. It does make the smaller rubber grips feel a little larger.
