Poor Durability of Yellow Pro V1X?

I have played the yellow 2019 Titleist Pro V1x quite a bit this year, with maybe one half of my rounds with it and the other half with white Pro V1 balls. I have noted repeatedly, on almost every round, that the yellow V1x is scuffed and shredded in spots. I think it is coming from sand wedge shots with a one year old conforming wedge. Today on the first hole I hit a full SW shot and the cover actually peeled at the impact spot. The flap peeled up was about one quarter inch in diameter.

My pro thinks it is due to the addition of the yellow pigment, as he has not noticed with the white V1x balls.

Has anyone else noted this issue?

I’ve played both off and on this year. I haven’t noticed any durability issues with either color. In fact I would say this years ball, of either color, are a little more durable than previous models. They certainly look new longer.

Yeah I play the yellow and haven’t noticed a difference in durability.

I haven't noticed any difference. Mabye wear and tear shows up more on the yellow than white?

But with the white V1 ball I haven't noticed anything, using the same clubs. I can play a V1 a second round if I want to, but I never can with a yellow V1x. It's not the visibility, you notice it when you pick it up and feel the rough spots. Maybe it's just the V1x cover, as (I think) t is designed this year to have more short game spin.

My league partner played the yellow X this year and he was really impressed how durable it was.

I've played both the versions, and haven't noticed any difference, especially hitting it in trees. Don't ask me how I know... ;)

Maybe I just got a bad lot of 4 dozen last spring (during the 4 for 3 sale.) My playing partner this past weekend said it looked like an old balata ball. I haven't peeled back a flap like I described above in years.

Anyway, I am going back to the white V1 anyway.

No issues here. I made it 3+ rounds with the same yellow V1x and it looked fine until I lost it.

I won't game a scuffed ball either.

I've noticed that yellow balls, in general, scuff more than white ones.

Weird that just a color change would mean such a difference in durability.

I used yellow v1x's this past weekend and will probably use them going forward. For the past two seasons I only used the white prov1x, this past weekend I tried yellow out because I miss virtually every fairway and its so much easier to find the ball. When it comes to durability, I found that the yellow balls seem to be a little more durable than the white in my opinion...even after crushing them into trees and skidding them across cart paths

In my personal experience, the Pro V1 and V1x Yellow balls have great durability. I played two rounds with the same V1 this weekend and could have gone for a third had I not lost it on the 17th hole of round two. Performance and look was consistent throughout as far as I could tell.

I would even say the durability of the yellow balls is superior to the white ones (which is how I justify even buying these expensive balls).

I have played the yellow v1 for 3 months and probably 20 rounds and haven't noticed any issues.

I've played the yellow Pro V1x and have had no problems with the cover. Great ball.
