I'm OUT!

The clubs are in the garage till March/April. Anyone else done yet?

Just finished playing our River Cup(straight gross play, no handicaps), which is a four round, local version of the Ryder Cup. First year in 7 attempts that I played in every round and first time actually won a point(went 3-1 winning best ball, scramble and singles and lost pinehurst alternate shot). It rain nearly all day and Im still soaked. The Cup is ours.

I shot so poorly last weekend that I thought I was out, but still played three times since then.

I'll be out when there's snow on the ground and/or the temps are in the 20's.

One advantage of living in the UK is that you can play all year around (unless, perhaps you live up north but then life's grim up north). I intend to play all through the winter. I might have to skip the occasional weekend if it's particularly bad or if (hopefully not) we get snow. But otherwise I just add another layer (waterproof) and stick hedgehogs on my trolley.

We have a gang that plays every Sunday if the course will open.

Plus, this year I have Vegas in November, Southern California in January and as always, Myrtle in March.

Dock the sticks until April?? Shudder at the thought. I'm an old dude, it's all I got... (that's kinda poetic)

I got to get some meat and fur in the freezer and deer season is in now and fur season is a month away. Its been the best year of golf for me with about a half dozen personal records broken and I'm ending on a high note. My back needs the break and I did something to my ring finger's first knuckle that hurts every time I hit driver on the heel side of the club.

I'm playin' till all the courses are closed.

Still have another two months. We usually get good weather up until December. My busy season starts kicking in about then, and I'll be pretty much done until April.

Things get iffy in Indiana. I'm still playing regularly, once or twice a weeks, sometimes more. If I had to guess I'll probably still be playing in December, depending on snow of course. Even so, there is an indoor range near my apartment that my daughter and I like to go, just to stay in the swing of things.

Living in NC, October starts the best season of golf here. Cool mornings and warm afternoons. I play golf year round, courses are always open.

Golf seems to be done here too. In 2 days they are forecasting near freezing temperatures and snow flurries. The general trend is abysmal and a few weeks early. I might have played my last round until I fly South for a "fix." Maybe the worst part is that I don't really miss golfing right now. It has rained fairly steadily since Sept. 20th and the ground is so wet right now, golf isn't fun.

Still some time for golf here in Northern/Central NJ but things start closing at the end of this month around me.

Too boot, I took a spill on some stairs last week and my left shoulder is in no shape to swing a club. I havent been to an ortho yet but all signs point to a rotator cuff injury, so yea, that great.....

Unless there's a day where weather is >60F, I'm probably about done. Got stuck playing with three 70 year old slow-pokes on Saturday and had my first 5 hour round ever, and probably one of my worst rounds all year. I think I'll take that as a sign that it's hockey season....

All year here in central NC. We will have some bad weather in the winter, but it usually doesn't last too long.

LOL. I will resist the eBay this year because there is nothing I need at this point. I've already started planning my March trip to the RTJ Trail.

I'll be hitting the simulator starting sometime in November when we shut down to keep in "shape".

Usually how I am this time of year. I turn away from the course to get in the woods. However, up until Saturday it has been oppressively hot here. Just not any kind of weather that even hinted at fall or desirable to be messing with a deer or anything else.

Today on the other hand, today would be a good day to be in the woods. Little windy for squirrels but good for deer.

What does "nothing I need" have to do with anything?

Oh I do sim golf as well when I am stuck home in Canada .... and have learned that great irons off of mats, ie Ping Raptures .. are not necessarily great off of grass

Done with what? Golf isnt seasonal, I play twice a week, for 52 weeks.

Everything is seasonal.. unfortunately I have several hobbies that overlap so one or more gets sacrificed. Spring is fishing and golf. Summer is softball and golf. Fall is hunting,trapping, officiating basketball. Plus being on boards, committees and other organizations keeps me busy.

Pretty much done here in Iowa. Played a ton of golf this summer and now deer season is here. I'll play occasionally after work, but weekends are reserved for hunting and fishing pretty much now. Unless of course I happen to get a deer early, then golf is in full swing again! The weather right now is absolutely perfect for golf, so it's kind of bitter sweet.

Temps are in the 90's... overseed has started... in three weeks we are all IN here in AZ.

Started out playing really well at the start of the year. I pulled a muscle in my side. Messed up my swing for a month. Started getting the swing back then had one of my retinas detach had surgery and that and the other one had to have laser surgery to repair tears. Missed 6 weeks, lost my swing again from not playing and messed up vision. My swing is starting to come back again so as long as I can find a course open here in Illinois I’m playing as much as possible to make up for lost time.

Oh man he will absolutely love it down there compared to Surfside----Great courses and restaurants too. Beautiful swamp marsh type country also

Im not there yet but its about 3 weeks away. Most courses here in Ohio shut down for the year on Nov 1 and Im trying to squeeze in all I can between now and then. This time of year kind of stinks for golf with me because I find myself juggling golf, American soccer, European soccer, college football and the NFL watching.

I love fall golf for now much less crowded the courses are and how pretty the fall color is but its difficult to find time for it sometimes.

I have one more weekend. Played a mixed scramble this past Saturday and won a Benjamin. Played the next day and managed a 76. Both days were 40 degrees. Could end now and be fine with it, but haven't really put up a low number all season. Feels like there is more to do.

It's funny some golfers will play in the 40 degree weather days in the springtime because they're so anxious to play, but put their clubs away when the weather gets to about 60° saying the season is over. There can really be some nice golf days this time of year.
