Good friend of mine and our wives are heading for 3 nights in Kiawah and 1 in Charleston next week. Staying in a villa and playing Osprey Pt, Turtle Pt, and Ocean Course. Appreciate food and drink recs as well as maybe things to do for the ladies while we are out playing golf. Will hit the spa I am sure. We will be spending one afternoon and night in Charleston as well so any restaurant recs would be great!

Endless threads you can search for more detail on what you are looking for, but a few quick notes:

- As far as what to do in Kiawah, you mentioned spa. Resort has some other amenities, but Kiawah is a relax kind of place. Aside from an awesome network of bike trails there really isnt much to do except eat, drink, golf, tennis, & beach.

- On Island inside the gates is all Resort - All good (or decent), and all expensive. Hit Ocean Course Ryder cup bar / lawn for sunset drinks

- Outside of the gates is Freshfields Village - a very upscale shopping center/villlage. A few good options here

- Just down the road on the other side of the traffic circle is Bohicket Marina - a few more good waterfront dining options

- There are a handful of good dining spots on Johns Island, but not really close to Kiawah - Tattooed Moose (casual) , Wild Olive (fine), Fat Hen (fine), and the newest is The Royal Tern (fine).

- Of course Downtown Charleston has endless great food and drink option - upper king street area being the more trendy spots, while Market Street / East Bay Street area traditionally more touristy.

However, you will find that it is a bit of a hike to Kiawah and once you are there you really wont want to leave the island or the close options - Freshfields Village or Bohicket Marina. Going back and forth to Charleston from Kiawah is kind of a momentum killer - depending where on the island you are staying it can be up to an hour drive , a lot of which is down a narrow dark road lined with Massive Oak Trees. One other unsolicited opinion on the golf - Turtle is probably the least popular course among locals. It has had some good amatuer tmnts and does have 3 holes on the Ocean, but you are kind of recessed and cant see it anyway. Otherwise it is about as much of a resort course as you can get - tight, lined with houses & condos, etc. Most I know much prefer Cougar Pt from a design, playability, and scenery perspective.... All of the courses are outstanding condition and experience, but just my 2 cents. Hope this helps, and enjoy your time here.

played Osprey yesterday. great condition as always. club house restaurants and sanctuary are really good for food. considering the drive for good food. def. can find cheaper food at freshfields. Hege's in freshfields is good. Downtown CHS too many from which to choose for one night. quick google search of top 10 will get you in the right place.

> PJ- did you eat there? Food pretty good. Been 2x. Good spot to watch a game too.

Did not get a chance to eat. I had to leave and get back to home. It’s a drive to where I live on DAniel island and the round took some time so I figured I’d just get on the road. Maybe I’ll stop there after my round at turtle

Forever Changing at this point.......
