Ive got the opportunity too. How much of a hassle is it to purchase the tickets? Do I need to be at the computer right at the time they are released?

It'll probably be akin to something like the other major sports leagues where you'll be able to get purchase tickets but it may not be on your first choice of day(s).

I'm not entirely sure it was an 'everyone who signed up got the invite' sort of thing. I was one of only four of a few close buddies who got the draw. Most likely they're anticipating the people who purchase early will pull the full strips and competition day tickets first and X% won't have any interest if they don't get either of those and will buy out the remaining practice days.

Also got a spot from the lottery. I don't know if I;'ll be able to get off work this far in advance, but I really want to go. Does anyone know if you can get your money back for tickets on the secondary market? I'd like to try and get 2 tickets for 2 of the match days, but don't want to be out around $800 if I buy them and end up not being able to go

Looks like it will be the same system as Coachella...which means get a separate PC, logon and wait all morning just to get shut out.

I buy virtually all tickets on Stubhub or some form of secondary market...sell on occasion too. I don't know what the market is for Ryder Cup tickets, but every other golf event except the Masters sells for less than face value.

You won't lose $800...but be prepared to lose a few hundred especially after all fees are deducted.

I believe PGA of America intends to run their own resale market...thus allowing them to further cash in on tickets they've already sold. It will be interesting to see if they artificially limit/inflate prices and what demand will be.

Accommodations are starting to be difficult to find already at a year out. Have to imagine the last-minute ticket market will be limited if there's nowhere to stay.

Completely agree about the accommodations, the saving grace may be the fact its under two hours from Chicago and under an hour from both Milkwaukee and Green Bay so people in those cities don't even need to worry about accommodations. Couple that with a few trip worthy publicly accessible courses/resorts on their own in the area and I have a feeling no one will get hurt if they decide to unload some of their spares.

While I can't find any published information on it now I have to imagine there will be a number of the local charter bus companies running to and from both Milwaukee and Green Bay all week, way too easy of money not to.

Does anyone know if you can sell them in the 2ndary market if we end up not being able to go? I read something about the 2018 Ryder requiring a photo upload for tickets, making them non transferrable..

I dont mind eating the taxes and fees, just want to be able to get face value back if something comes up and cant make it.

my intent was to buy the whole week's worth and see if I could resell the week days and attend the weekend rounds.

now I wonder if investing that much makes sense.

currently playing:

Cally FT hybrids
Hogan Edge GS, 4-PW

Same... Not too far away (5hr drive) but I have no idea if I want to spend the money with everything that it entails... Hazeltine in 2028 might be a better play for me lol.

Would not shock me to see a 2 hour wait
