Best winter pant.

I play golf in 35 degree temps if sunny and no wind. What are some warm golf pants that will fit over a bottom base layer? I typically wear a fleece pant by Patagonia or such. Looking for a true golf pant but they never seems to be a warm enough true golf pant in just above freezing temps. I know tech has changed a lot in the last couple years.

Most companies make or have made cold weather golf pants. Have a pair of UA cold gear pants that I play in when it gets under 40 and there's no need for a base layer at all. They keep me warm and dont let the wind through

You dont need to spend money on heavy, cumbersome, thick weather pants. sometimes they can effect your swing esp when theyre baggy and 90% of the time they are. Just get UA's base layers. they range from 1.0, 2,0 ... to 5.0 (warmest). Then wear your regular pants over them. Warm nuts, warm legs.

I play all year as long as the course is open. I think the best pants for winter are the Nike Weatherized Pants. They can be a little hard to find but Amazon has several different sizes of black only. My second choice would be the above mentioned UA ColdGear Infrared pants. These are pretty expensive on the UA site but I was able to find them much cheaper last year on the Golf Support site. If you can find them there and know your size I would not hesitate buying from them.

Uniqlo had Kando pants (Adam Scott) in a winter style that was thicker than normal. They don't have them on their website anymore, but they might have them in the stores on sale. I have 2 pairs and I wear their Heatech long johns underneath and I'm toasty in 40 degrees weather.

Eddie Bauer fleece lined jeans. Cheaper, effective and can be used for many other things. I play year round here in Michigan and these are a go to solution for 30 degree golf weather... Although I do have a pair of UA cold gear pants as well and they are great. The jeans are warmer.

At the risk of being a total Costco homer, I picked up two pair of soft shell pants there last year that are phenomenal. I’ll find out the brand when I get home, but they are fairly slim cut and a thicker version of Lululemon ABC pants that are brushed on the inside for warmth. I have not seen them this year but did find them from other sites for a bit more.

Look for a fleece lined softshell pant. Or, you could wear a baselayer under an unlined softshell pant. I have Arcteryx Gamma MX which are quite expensive, but I wear them for winter hiking and backpacking, cross country skiing and cold weather golf, so I get a lot of use out of them. Soft-shell pants are stretchy and have great range of motion...you'll even notice it bending over to pick up your ball out of the cup after made putts.

If you are looking for a golf pant, I would just wear a heavier base layer under a normal golf pant. If you are out a lot in cold weather (not just playing golf) it's good to have several different weight base layers. You can find good synthetic base layers in varying weights from REI, Cabelas and other outdoor/sporting good stores. Merino Wool base layers also come in varying weights as well.

Throw on some thermal long underwear underneath.

Problem solved.

The UA Coldgear Pants with the Infrared Lining are by far the best/warmest golf pants I've ever owned. Anything above 30deg and they're more than warm enough. If it's colder than that I'll do a UA 2.0 baselayer underneath. But the pants themselves are so warm I sometimes wear them to shovel my driveway.

I have a few pairs of the Adidas Ultimate 365 Fall weight pants and Frost Guard pants and they work well.... I usually shop for specialty garments at the end of the season so I can grab them at a discount.

The pants I have are the bc clothing expedition soft shell pants. Between $15 and $30 on Amazon.

It's regularly sub 30F here in Scotland and I've had good success with the UA Cold Gear Infrared, I've also got some Galvin Green Nevan Ventil8 trousers for this year, I think we're in for a cold one. So far they've been excellent and are very wind resistant too.

Something other than my fleece outerwear from Patagonia, north face, arcteryx, etc....last I checked they didn’t make golf gear
