Tiger Woods memoir "Back"

Well, my take is he wants to define his history on his terms and his point of view. Also, I take this to mean even he thinks is playing career is coming to an end.

When I saw his post about it, I took in a similar way as you. It seems that he wants to get his side of things out there, while still playing, and hopefully be able to define the legacy he wants to leave as he goes off into the next chapter. Should be an interesting read, for sure.

I wonder if maybe he wrote most of it during the several years when it looked like he was done, and now there is a perfect title, etc., so the publisher wants to strike now. Who knows?

good point. Also to add, I do not see anything wrong with him wanting to define his history on his terms. Even if his perspective is as off as anyone else's.

“I’ve been in the spotlight for a long time, and because of that, there have been books and articles and TV shows about me, most filled with errors, speculative and wrong,” Woods said in a statement.

Wonder if he'll address these books and articles and TV shows specifically.

Curious if this will be whitewashed and Steinberg’s PR version of the happenings or if he is really going to tell the truth this time.

I'll wait for the reviews and if it's not chock full o pancakes and navy seal training stories, I pass.

We all know Tiger for years. Sure, he has been private but I think it's clear that, in his prime, he was an arrogant, pancake devouring, seal playing, weight training, winning obsessed at all costs, shark. If he spills the beans on it, it could be a great read.

I am more curious if there is a chapter titled "thanksgiving".

The title is quite encompassing given his history of injuries

I'm still incredulous that of all the "advice" and counsel Tiger surely got from MJ and Barkley back in the day, it apparently didn't include "get a burner phone". So amateurish.

Just like almost everybody on the planet, there is some good about Tiger, and some bad. He'll probably only focus on the good things in his book, but that's also not unlike most who've written a memoir about themselves. Might be an interesting read, but doubt it reveals anything we don't already know.

Exactly, if he did that, lines at Barnes and Noble be like,

It definitely should make for an interesting read!! No way he is going to go into things in huge depth. I picked up the book he released about his 97 Masters win and he dind’t really reveal very much in that, I can’t see this doing the same but if it’s about Tiger, I’ll red it.

I'm hoping to be surprised with a little candor. Most can't personally relate to personal circumstances but pretty much everyone can see how being Tiger Woods could take you down a crazy path given the money, fame, pressure.

Be cool if he just did it chronologically and provided some baseline into his thinking before turning pro, how all the success impacted him, the back problems and how depressing and difficult that was, and what's going on now as far as attaining some wisdom and peace.

If it is a "Tell all" then there is nothing that won't make him look like a total piece of shit. Which is why this will be a carefully crafted fluff piece, with a mild amount of juice to initially get it off the shelves.

I’d be surprised if he did not acknowledge his behavior and how much it hurt his loved ones.
