I get it and he's right. They haven't gone head-to-head down the stretch of a major to my recollection, so until that happens, or until both of them only need the Master's to win the career grand slam, it's not a rivalry. Trading WGC and Tour Championship wins isn't enough in my opnion. If we are talking about the fight for the World #1, it's a fight between like 6/7 guys at the moment.

I will remain the only corpse on the "Brooks isn't better than Rory" hill that seems to be diminishing every day.

The abbreviated quote looks a bit cocky and disrespectful but the full comment is good. He gets his point across backing it up with facts and its serves as a bit of mind games too, perfect from Koepka.

Would love Rory to come back with something, but bet he doesn't

In fact its probably about time a player came back and started giving Brooks a bit back

Should I post videos of Rory throwing clubs, whining on course like a child and other "classless" acts?

Even if it's not 'polite' of Brooks to offer less than flattering things to say about Rory, it's a) not false and b) probably good for golf. Good for golf in that it brings a little excitement, could bring in more viewers to TV and events, etc. Imagine a Brooks and Rory final pairing in the near future now.

Koepka i guess was brought up differently...although when it comes to classless comments, Rory has had his share..but if there was a big a hole..it's obvious Koepka would be top 3 in contention.

It's the Baker Manzoo generation of athletes.

Be low on the greatness totem pole but talk crap like your have GOAT like wins to back it up.

Tiger and Jack, I don't remember either ever cracking on a fellow pros game. Well, maybe that 9&8 time but....; )

I am a big fan of both Rory and Brooks. I enjoy watching them both play and I agree with Brooks there is no rivalry. That is something the media is drumming up for attention. But, that being said, I see Brooks having a down year.

Indeed, it's a slow part of the season and the golf personalities have very little to talk about, so they are trying to create drama that simply isn't there.

I think Rory has grown mildly complacent with his huge success, with 400M+ of endorsement dollars I can understand why. Rory will play this off as no big deal, but perhaps it will be a large enough chip on his shoulder to actually create a mini rivalry.

I think this is great for golf. Golf needs more polarizing personalities that cause people to tune in and cheer for/against them. I don't think Brooks' comments are classless moreso than him just speaking his mind, which is another thing we need more of; I get so tired of athletes giving canned answers to questions. Like him or not, Brooks at least doesn't hold anything back, and until he starts saying profane things, I'm all for it.

Though he'd never do it, I'd have totally loved it if, after being presented with the POY Award, Rory's first quote was: "What up now, Bruce?"

I think BK is mad that Rory won POTY and the rest of the PGA Tour saw his season as better.

And let's look at BKs quote, which besides being inaccurate (as cdn said, BK played in both of Rory's 2014 majors), overlooks the fact that Rory, though majorless, has won a *lot more than BK. Also, BK, while winning 4 majors more recently, has won 2 PGA Champs (the least desireable), zero Masters, zero Open Championships (those 2 being seen as most prestigious by most, I think).

Since 2014, BKs, first full season on tour, he has won,

7 times. 6 PGA tour wins (including 4 majors), and the Turkish Airlines.

Since, 2014, Rory has won,

14 times. 11 PGA Tour wins (2 majors) and the Players and the Tour Championship 2x/Fedex Cup 2x, and 3 Euro wins.

And yet, Brooks is still #1 in the OWGR, which is his point, I think. He didn't say that Rory isn't good and doesn't win, he simply said he doesn't see a rivalry. And, if his reasoning is that there isn't anyone in front of him, that makes sense.
