Callaway Super Hybrid

Did we know this was coming? I never heard anything, kinda seems out of left field. Pro Orange stock shaft, really does not look too bad if you want one with a bigger footprint, might be a good fwy wood replacement for those that like hybrids better.

super price too ..have hit many hybrids over the years but non perform better for me than my trusty old Hawkeye 7 wood...

This seems redundant with the epic flash hybrids (which are already on the bigger side) just releasing. I guess if you have trouble hitting fairway woods off the deck this could do the trick, other than that idk who this is for.

Probably about the same size as my F9 Tour fairway woods. The price is steep for a hybrid

I'm guessing that orange color is the same one that's on the new Mavrik driver.

Looks nice, but $320?!? That is an insane price for a hybrid. Much like the Callaway "Star" line, this appears to be tailored to people with money to blow.

I feel like they've had these bigger head hybrids. Thinking specifically of the rogue X line which I thought long and hard trying in place of my 5w but it's hard to find one with an X flex shaft. Seems like they are just now just trying to market it to the 'good' player. Perhaps a shallower face than some of those other options?

Are they also going to have a "Mavrik" line of hybrids. Kind of crazy how much equipment Callaway comes out with.....

You need to go to callaways page and watch the video interview with this club. It is pretty interesting. It appears that the took better players into consideration when designing this and tried to take the left out of it. I will be honest, I kinda like the idea of this. the price is steep at $320 bucks. But if you consider the angle of it. That they are trying to replace your fairway wood then it is probably in the right area.

Callaway does seem to have a ton of hybrids out right now though. The Apex, Big Bertha, Epic Flash, Epic flash star and soon the super...

High priced golf equipment has a market. Someone with money will spend $100k on a Tesla, what’s $320? Chump change.

I actually moved to a smaller hybrid - the apex. Large metalwood heads dont mentally give me confidence in the rough, always think theyre gonna get caught up.

Guessing from these pics that the 2020 woods from Cally will be an orange colorway... anyone see them that can confirm?

Remarks have been posted the driver has orange also, and the are doing the pro orange as stock, so would appear so

I've not really read up on the Pro Orange Hybrid Shaft yet, but looks like this comes stock with the "real deal" version. I guess that's probably accounted for in the price however. I love the Pro Orange driver shaft. I'm actually very interested in this club. I can't remember the last time I got along with a 3 wood, it's been years. I much prefer the look of a hybrid. I could turn this thing down to 16* and it would likely come in really handy for me.

So is my trusty Adams Idea Black Super Hybrid is no longer super?

Seriously though, the way technology is moving forward it may have only been a matter of time before someone created a hybrid that was as long as a FW. That 17 degree model just screams 5 or maybe 4 wood replacement to me. I know the Flash hybrid ball speeds and distances have been silly, but I don't recall Callaway saying those hybrids had FW distance.

Just a regular Tensei orange shaft stock, not the pro. For the price they should be including the pro shaft though.

I like the concept, especially if they are anti-left. Hopefully these do better than the similar Cobra King Oversize hybrids.

The Callaway site clearly says CK Pro Orange when you click on pre-order. It even shows the "W" tungsten graphics on the shaft.

PRO orange shaft in the woods...??? Guess I'll be buying a new driver just for the stock shaft pull!

The Orange is the only shaft listed as stock. On a side note, it list the kickpoint as "Low" under the specs on the Callaway site. That would obviously contradict it actually being the Pro version, so who knows. Amazing that these new products go live on the site without any review of accuracy.

I am not sure the make a non pro orange hybrid

With so many golfers replacing hybrids with utility/driving irons, I guess Callaway is hoping some will replace fairway woods with these Super hybrids??!!

Pro Orange is stock, the rest of the shaft options are the same as current the hybrids. I was able to view shafts by clicking Pre-Order.

These remind me very much of the Adams Super Hybrids.

I had a 19* Idea Black Super Hybrid with an Aldilia Voodoo ($30 off CPO). The first time I played with it, I hit shots that I've never hit before. For that one round, it was absolute magic.

Unfortunately, every shot thereafter was LEFT INTO THE TREES. I tried to find the magic again for about two years, but eventually had to throw the Super Hybrid on the dust heap.

In spite of my experience, I'm sure both the Adams and these new Callys will work well for a lot of people. It was a prolific design for Adams.

Got to the cally website. It is the pro, see below.

They show the image of the pro orange with custom options, go to club specs drop down and it's just the regular CK orange, not the pro orange. Bait and switch at it's peak here folks. Attention to detail.
