Another strong field this week. Of the Top 25 in the World, Nasa, Lexi, Danielle, Shanshan, and Bronte are sitting out.

Weather looks decent. There's a chance for t-storms on Thursday, and it''ll be breezy on Friday, but the weekend looks quite good. TV coverage stinks. Hopefully we'll get to see the full 2.5 hours on Sunday, and not a truncated mess like yesterday's telecast.

I'm going with Jin Joung this week. 'No way she has two mediocre weeks in a row. She finished T8 last year. Will Nelly step up in her title defense? Amy is also quite capable.

A strong field; because many Asians are highly ranked.

There're less than 30 western (European or North American) caucasian players; it's a bit weird.

Strange Carlota is sitting this one out, she plays very well here. I don't want to follow @Argonne69 and go with Jin Young (actually I do) but I won't, so Amy Yang it is. Megan Khang, Wei-Ling Hsu and Minjee will be on the prowl as well. My sleeper but not so much a sleeper is Hannah Green, 3 wins would be spectacular for her.

It may be strategic. Carlota is currently leading the AON Risk/Reward Challenge and -- with a $1 million prize on the line -- she doesn't want to risk having a bad hole and losing out on the huge payday. I'm not sure if Ariya is still in striking distance at this point and could step up and grab it herself.

Carlota must have pulled out. She was listed in the Final Field this morning.

Maybe it was just me, but Jin Young Ko has appeared a bit fatigued the past two weeks. I know it’s hard to knock two consecutive top 10 finishes, but she just didn’t seem as precise with her ballstriking and putting.

Happy to see the Queen Bee making an appearance. Might be asking too much, but hoping she’s in contention on Sunday.

Finally, just can’t shake the feeling that either Minjee and Sei Young Kim will string together 4 good rounds to win one of these final tournaments.

Blending a bit of the old with the new going into 2024

That's what I thought. But it is a hell a lot of those $$$!!

I agree about JYK. It looks like fatigue - nothing technical as such. The thing that has gone from her irons is the distance control - a little. And more occasionally, the line. Overall, she's started looking like a run of the mill world No. 1.

Shibuno and Lee6 (along with Hanah Green) are off at 10:24 AM in the first round. It would be cool to see these two play together. They are not Lexi, etc type long but both of them seem to be able to give it a pretty good whack with a very controlled / balanced swing.

I guess they paired three major winners together and then JYK, Nelly (defending champ), and Wei-Ling Hsu (local hero) in another key grouping.

Well, MJ has a share of the lead after the 1st round. Minjee is in 3rd place. Morgan and Megan are down at T14, but it's early.

Tough day putting for a number of players. It appears that the greens were much faster than expected with the rain, as putts were racing by.

Once again, Jin Young looked very un-Jin Young. Frustration or fatigue?

Pity Hinako won't be coming over to the LPGA next season. She sure looks like her play at the WBO was no fluke. Interesting position at address, but it sure does work.

That was a lot of golf. Hopefully they won't butcher the final round coverage again.

Brooke with a nice 64, and IK with a 65 moves them into contention. MJ, Nelly, Minjee, and Su continue with solid rounds. The top eight players are all within four shots. Conditions must have improved, as scoring seems a little lower today.

In Gee with a 73. She needs to play better to collect enough CME points to get into the final event.
