ProV1 vs ProV1X vs Bstone Tour B XS

TXG recently uploaded a video comparing the 2019 ProV1 vs the Tour BXS. I found it interesting they chose the ProV1 as in a previous test they did the ProV1X was a higher spinning ball than the ProV1. Difference in spin was really only notable in the wedge shot.

Curious how others feel about the Tour B XS incomparison to the Titleist performance balls?

The data lead me to believe the B XS was a good ball for me. It was longer off the tee for me but there was no control going into the greens. The ball would land and roll out 15+ feet. The ProV 1X would land and stay within a 4/5 foot range of the pitch mark. On the course testing proved out for my game, ProV 1X worked better.

Seems like your experience with the ball is opposite of TXG... I'm leaning towards playing them next year. I may need to do some more testing where I hit similar shots with both and compare, but the last few months I have been gaming all 3 and it seems to be a quality competitor for the ProV1's.

I think the Tour B XS is designed to spin more from all clubs than the Tour B X while the Pro V1 is supposed to spin more with the driver but less with wedges than the ProV1x so I don't think there is a direct comparison between the companies. I would say if you like Bridgestone and you want more spin go with the XS if you want less go with the X. If you like the ProV's and you want less driver spin but more wedge go with the X and vice versa. If there's one thing I've leaned, "your mileage may very" is more true with golf equipment than with any other sport or activity I've seen. Companies can design through testing and science equipment to behave a particular way in a vacuum but there are so many variables once people are introduced. The results from A to B can be so drastic.

As I stated in my post. Add people and there’s too many variables for balls to always perform as designed.

I don't notice much difference off the tee among V1, V1X, B XS, nor much difference around the green, either. Fine balls, all three. But I prefer B XS for the way it feels on my putter. Lot to be said about feel. Years ago my wife-to-be had better choices than me, but for some mysterious reason, said I felt right. She's not left. Yet.

For me B XS was much better off the irons and around the greens. The crazy thing was that even though it felt much softer than both TP5 and Pro V1X it was faster with every club. It did spin a little more off the driver but with the lower launch and higher speed i did not lose any distance. I tend to be a low spin guy with the irons, so the extra spin helped me hold it in the air longer so it was about 1/2 a club longer for me with the irons. inside 100yds I thought before the TP5 was the best, but the B XS is even better with a really soft feel which I like. And an added feature is the durability. just been a great switch for me.

I'm thinking about switching to the XS after this review. I struggle with low spin off the driver and I tend to really shut the face down on bad misses with all my clubs. Having some extra spin could help turn a bad hook that results in a OB/hazard/ball under a tree to something just in the rough. As a 12HC I don't usually hit more than 6 greens a round anyway, so at this point, losing a club of distance will probably not make any difference in GIR, but being in the fairway probably will help reduce scores in the long run. I'm also very shallow with my irons and wedges for the most part, so when I have the hooks with those clubs, it's really bad.
