Looking for quality courses in the CLT area, hit me with your favorite tracks. Pricing and public/semi/private information appreciated too.

Budget - Harry Jones / Renaissance - less than $30 for 18 in the afternoon.

Quality - I enjoyed Tega Cay.

Have you played RHCC by chance? Heard it’s nice.

Yep, used to work there. Usually in pretty decent shape, private though. But if you can find a member, the guest fee isn't expensive at all.

Tega Cay, is target golf from what I remember. Usually in good shape though.

Sounds like I need to start asking around to find someone to play there.

I'm hoping someone will chime in with courses North of Charlotte. I've yet to venture that way.

Red Bridge and Eagle Chase are great. $30 and $20 through golf now, tee off, or birdie bug. Also like Tega Cay and Springfield. Fort Mill and Spring Lake are hit or miss.

Red Bridge, Eagle Chase, Verdict Ridge, or Rocky River are probably the best options.

Agree with Red Bridge, Verdict Ridge, and Rocky River. I have never played Eagle Chase but have heard good things about EC as well. Skybrook has made a comeback with their new greens...a big improvement.

Is skybrook still private? Or are they public now?

They're public and have been for a while now.

skybrook just went through and ownership change and took most of the summer to do an overhaul - looking forward to getting out there

Others: Carolina Lakes, Skybrook, Edgewater

They are all mostly public with some private members, although Verdict Ridge probably has more private members so public play can be limited.

Edgewater for sure, they've got a great track. Just wish it was a little more walkable... price and condition is usually on point though.

If you are looking to the north end of Charlotte, there are several to look at. Mooresville is a great track that has recently been renovated . A hidden gem is River Oaks just outside of Statesville - $24. They have bent greens that are usually in great shape. Skybrook has turned around with their new greens and continuing work on other areas of the course. The Warrior in China Grove is a fun track. They have new greens also. Fairways are good and tee boxes are improving. They took out a lot of trees recently that has helped some areas that were too shady.

I'm a member at The Warrior (I live 10 min away), they really have done a great job with place over the past year. The new Bermuda greens are wonderful.

I played Carolina many years ago, and it was a really fun course.

For north of Charlotte- Northstone is a fun course. Great social crowd as well.
