Best Blade Putter Under $200

DoubleDrops

Recommended Posts

I've never been pleased with the putter I have & I'm going to try something new. I know that finding the right putter is going to come down to me personally handling & picking the one that feels the best to me, but I'd like to at least limit it to a few before I go to a store to try them. I do know that I want a blade style putter and I'd like to keep it under $200. What has worked for you?

What do you mean by blade? Are we talking 8802, anser style, or anything that isn't a mallet? If it's anser style you are looking for, my personal favorites for look and feel would be a Scotty (pre insert) or Ping Milled/Redwood (possibly Vault). A used Scotty would be pushing that budget, but the higher end Pings tend to be pretty affordable used after a few years. If you are looking for new, Ping's Karsten is solid and people on here seem to like Cleveland or milled Wilsons for their quality/price point. So many options under $200, happy hunting.

Go pick one up. I personally think the Cleveland putters look and feel cheap, but to each their own. The Vault line is Ping's top end retail product. A 300 dollar Ping putter is going to be nicer than a 100-130 dollar full price cleveland.

How do the Vault line putters compare to their Sigma 2 Anser putters?

What don’t you like about it?

Another vote for Cleveland, if you want "new". The Frontline Anser style is solid, so are the Huntington Beach soft models.

But for less than $200, you have a huge choice of used.

Just browse here for a quick look of what you can get from Callaway preowned::

[https://callawaygolfpreowned.com/golf-clubs/putters/?prefn1=a1657&prefn2=isClearance&prefv1=Blade&prefv2=false](https://www.callawaygolfpreowned.com/golf-clubs/putters/?prefn1=a1657&prefn2=isClearance&prefv1=Blade&prefv2=false "https://callawaygolfpreowned.com/golf-clubs/putters/?prefn1=a1657&prefn2=isClearance&prefv1=Blade&prefv2=false")

For example, if you don't need one that looks like new, check out the first gen Toulon San Diego....

[https://callawaygolfpreowned.com/golf-clubs/putters/toulon-design-putters/putters-2016-toulon-san-diego.html](https://www.callawaygolfpreowned.com/golf-clubs/putters/toulon-design-putters/putters-2016-toulon-san-diego.html "https://callawaygolfpreowned.com/golf-clubs/putters/toulon-design-putters/putters-2016-toulon-san-diego.html")

And just look at the used Ping Vault Answer 2s available from 2nd Swing:

Keep an eye on the Callaway Pre-Owned site, even sign up for emails from them as they'll have random sales up to 40% off depending on the model.

I snatched up a San Diego for under $200 with a discount and it's an awesome putter. A bit of wear on the face and sole but I will eventually get it clean up and still not in the putter much.

Other options like mentioned are the Clevelands ones even the new Frontline which I like out of all Cleveland models. Ping has putter options for days, Odyssey has many options if you like inserts, you could even land a Scotty on a good day I bet.

Get on the bay and find yourself an Odyssey Protype... Carbon head, milled faces.... There are 340g and 350g heads. IMO, they are some of the best value out there for milled, carbon putters that you won't see in everybody's hands.
